BankOne & Halifax CC PPI

I've just received a rejection letter from Halifax saying that I did not have any PPI associated with my credit card account. I do not have all my statements and the ones that are in my possession only go back a few years. I distinctly remember ppi was on this account and eventually I cancelled it when I realised I was paying it!. My original card was issued by BankOne, this was later merged with Halifax.
Does anyone know if this is a standard tactic employed by Halifax to stop me from pursuing my claim?
I was going to ask card services for duplicates of my statements going back to 2000 when Halifax took over the account, is this viable?
Finally does anyone have contact details for BankOne for accounts prior to 2000
Many thanks

You need to send a SAR and £10 to see what info they have left on you. If they have destroyed their data in line with FSA recommendations and there is no info left, your complaint is over.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
