I've just managed to catch a bee for the first time ever in any AC game! :-)
I used the following technique ....
Shake the tree and when the beehive drops, as soon as you've got over the initial shock, run north/up as fast as you can (use the B button to run fast). Then press 'X' to get your inventory up - this 'freezes' the bee swarm and will also turn you round so that you're facing the swarm. Equip your net and then in quick succession press 'X' to close your inventory and 'A' to swipe your net. With a bit of luck you'll get a bee this way.0 -
I'm raking in close to 400,000 bells from every (evening) trip to the island. I've chopped down the four trees in the centre of the island, as the high value bugs only appear on the palm trees on the beach and the other trees are a distraction. I find the best method is to pop in and out of the beach hut to 'reset' the bugs. You get between 0-5 high value bugs every time (only if you have removed the centre trees, otherwise you'll get less high value bugs appearing). There's only a couple of bugs that require you to go into 'mega-creep' mode, the rest you can just walk up to and swipe. In about 45 minutes you'll have somewhere between 350,000 and 400,000+ bells.''He who takes no offence at anyone either on account of their faults, or on account of his own suspicious thoughts, has knowledge of God and of things devine.''0

Doh! Something I've just discovered yesterday which is hopefully going to save many trips to Reeses.... apologies if I'm saying what everyone else knows, but this is too good not to share....
If you are collecting fruit from your trees to sell, you can drag up to nine fruit of the same type over the top of each other in your inventory, allowing you to carry many more at a time. (If you drop them on the ground, they show as rather pretty baskets of fruit.)
P.S I'm a 53 year old female and my 61 year old (male) partner also plays AC !0 -

Two things happened today: I finally seem to have got to the end of the endless home extensions (hooray!), the second thing is that I've started falling over when I run??? Never happened before!
Still, no more evening bug-hunts on the island to satisfy that swindler, Nook.
Edit: actually, three things have happened....looks like the club has opened today, too.''He who takes no offence at anyone either on account of their faults, or on account of his own suspicious thoughts, has knowledge of God and of things devine.''0
