Hurrah, I bought a book from Amazon new and used yesterday, and today I have sold one for more than the one I bought. The world is in perfect harmony for once!"I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something."0

boston is in hospital so I am asking a question on her behalf...
Had an order from Sweden for a book first thing Tuesday morning and dispatched it later Tuesday morning. Had a reply to the Amazon "Dispatch" email today (Wednesday) saying "This is a mistake, I have not ordered this book. I want to cancel this order!"
1. Presumably they can cancel the order within 30 days for whatever reason?
2. Since it was (presumably) their mistake (perhaps they One-Clicked - though they would have had an order confirmation email before the dispatch email - so should not have been a complete surprise) - can we ask them to return the item at their own cost before providing a refund?
3. Do we have to refund postage element of their original payment?
4. Any advice on how to keep feedback good?
Thanks.

Hello S - regards to Boston, hope she is on the mend soon.
Its a tricky one when buyers 'make a mistake'. You don't say if it was a high value book?
If it was, you could say you will refund the cost of the book only once you have received the book back at their expense. Of course this may not result in good feedback.... Or you could refund minus the cost of postage and let them keep the book - depends on how much you would lose that way. However this doesn't always result in good feedback either from what other sellers say.
If you are concerned re feedback ie if a neg would make a serious dent then just grit your teeth, refund the whole amount and they keep the book - you sigh heavily and move on.
Of course sods law is that they then won't leave ANY feedback
Not all buyers check their email daily if at all so they may have found the buying email at the same time as the shipped one.
Good luck - well done with keeping the sales going

The last time I sold something to the channel isles it was exactly the same price as sending it in mainland UK. However, when you do online postage amazon make you select it as if sending it overseas so I expected it to be more, but it wasn't! Maybe it's more expensive for really heavy items

I hope Boston gets well soon!
Amazon's rules are quite difficult to understand, here they are:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?UTF8&nodeId=1161010
If I am understanding correctly, if they return the item within 7 days you have to refund the postage element of the overall price, if returned after the 7 days, you don't have to refund the postage.
How is everyone's sales so far this month? November was my busiest month last year, and has been pretty busy so far.
Oh yeah, if anyone wants to join my team for the quidco competition, please pm me your quidco username and I will add you to the MSE Team, especially if you are about to make a lot of purchases through quidco. Lots of prizes up for grabs for the team who earns the most quidco commission.
