Anyone used muscle spray to deter cats?
We have people who have just bought the house opposite who have two cats, one or both have taken a liking to cra**ing in our front garden virtually every day (the cats, not the owners!
).
I have tried spraying around the area with citrine oil, lavender oil, vinegar and water, have two new lavender plants, have foil streamers on sticks, have put lots of pine cones down, thrown a jug of water over one and still the little sh*ts come back! I like cats (just don't like them messing all over our front garden), so I don't want to go down the chilli flakes route or anything nasty like that. The ralgex doesn't harm them as they don't go anywhere near the smell.
I found this vid saying to use muscle spray on tea bags, has anyone tried this method with any success? I don't want to buy Ralgex or whatever if it isn't going to work.

Hmmm not sure, but I'm willing to give it a go
I'd visit a pound store & just see if they have a can of muscle spray. I purchased some muscle rub tubes from there and will be giving that a go that and after seeing another video perhaps putting 1" sticks in the ground.

We use jayes fluid watered down in a spray bottle. We just spray the area once a week and it has stopped next doors kitties using our garden as their loo. xRIP TJ. Left-over pickled onion vinegar deters dogs from using the grass verge outside our house. Sorry, haven't tested it with cats...
Like the muscle spray idea though, will watch thread with interest, thanksThe beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

The best way to deter cats from using your front / back garden is to get a cat
Cats are territorial so owing your own should stop this behavior.0 -

Well, I sprayed a bit on 4 tea bags and put them under the bark yesterday morning.
Came back from shopping a couple of hours later and found a pile of bark with another cat t*rd in it!
I reckoned I didn't spray enough on them so I rooted them out and gave them a hell of a dousing with the Deep Heat. I think I was being a bit tight with the spray the first time so went mad and put a lot more on them so that they were soaking.
There was nothing in the garden this morning so I shall see how we get on with it.
Rain was forecast for tonight (which we have had since about 9pm) so I sprayed 3 more teabags, put 2 under a couple of small bits of broken paving, tilted to let the smell out but keep the rain off and the other under a bush.
They may not come into the garden anyway tonight as I have been told they don't like wet bark.0 -
Moth balls are supposed to deter them0

On our local radio this morning someone was suggesting the 'Scary cat Plant', PLECTRANTHUS ORNATUS. Apparently cats don't like the smell.
I've just had a quick google and can only find one supplier, it costs more for the postage than for one small plant so i'm trying to find somewhere else.
Anyone heard of it ?

I've found this supplier now, can't see how much the postage is but can get a dozen plugs for the cost of two at the other place.
