  • Helllo everybody!

Popped out this morning to buy some milk and a few apples, this is the only top up shop that I have done this week which is great. I have had 3 nsd this week which is really good, we only ran out of milk this morning so not bad going at all.

Need to do the shopping list for the next week so I can do the weekly shop tomorrow, from next week we can get this sorted so that we can go shopping straight after the kids swimming lessons.

I've sat down today to look at what needs paying until my next pay day in 2 1/2 weeks, it's going to be tight and I'm going to have to miss out on my own climbing lessons this month but I want to make sure that the kids keep up with their own activities and I can go running anyway. I also obviously need to keep aside the money for boiler repair.

The £50 from quidco has been paid and I'm doing little surveys and clicks to boost these areas, if we stick to the plan we will make it to payday in not too bad a state.

    Hi Chrysalis,

Its amazing what lengths we will go to to make sure our kids don't miss out isn't it! What a nice thing for you to do, missing out on your own activity so the kids don't miss theirs :D.

Have you had the price about the boiler yet? xx

  • Thanks mtg, the kids always get first priority within reason so I don't mind for a few weeks. Heating engineer is not back from hols until Monday so won't find out until then the problem and the cost.

This afternoon I have sorted through ds clothes and put a bundle for sale, also selling a jigsaw and some books so hopefully these will sell and add a few pounds to the pot. Next stop is his abundance of toys there might not be much to get rid of as it's not long since we sorted through them.

Still need to do menu and shopping list this evening, exciting Saturday night!

Your Saturday nights sound as wild and exciting as mine chrysalis. Enjoy doing the shopping list. It's a proper 💩 job.

  • Had a great email waiting for me this morning saying I had won £25 on the lotto, I've withdrawn this and will pay straight off the credit card I really need to keep chipping away at this as my current interest added is £44 a month

I have been to do the weekly shop, I have £3 left from my budget but I have brought for 7 days of meals including meat for today and needed to stock up with flour, yeast and other bits and pieces. I got quite a lot of reduced items too.

I did my electric and gas meter readings and need to be careful about the usage, I haven't used my tumble dryer for a few days and is lovely and sunny today so the washing is drying on the line.

The local council have started charging for emptying our green recycling bins used for grass cutting etc. so we have decided to make this our compost bin instead it will be plenty for our garden. We are going to grow a few veg and more herbs this year so need to get pots and seeds organised in the next few weeks.

Last full holiday day today, lots of organising tomorrow and then back to lots of work ho hum, must focus on all our plans.

  • Just popping in, I have been avoiding posting as I have stumbled into a big hole and feel stupid and frustrated with myself as we are the ones that cause all the mess.

This month has been terrible, it's 2 weeks until payday and I have £30 in my purse with everything maxed out and direct debits bouncing. I have had a cold twice in the last two weeks probably from worrying about how to feed us all and having to scrimp on the fuel for the car as I need to go on a course at the weekend. Next week is half term so at least we will be at home and there is plenty to do both outdoors and indoors that is free.

I feel like such a failure and next to sit down with dh on payday to do a detailed budget for the month ahead, he really needs to see how much needs to be budgeted even though he is very good at thrifty meals, I just need his support everyday.

So no progress, nothing happening, just sitting and waiting.

Tinned potatoes are 15p though and taste lovely!
