Halifax Mortgage Application...how long?

    They did our valuation the day after they took the payment - they took the payment on a Thursday (3 weeks ago) and then collected the keys for the valuation mid afternoon Friday... we couldn't believe it.
    That was in the South West though...

    Keep checking my emails every half hour or so to get the password to the customer portal part of their website where you can download the full report.... I'm hoping it will be today, as its been 2 working days (after what seemed like an extremely long Bank Holiday!)

    Finally our valuation is booked for the 23rd may after submitting our application on 29th April. Broker states its because they are busy and shortage of surveyors in the south east. Well this is going to be a long and stressful wait !!!
    If i knew the answers to all the questions i wouldn't be on here :p

    Ok that is interesting, so maybe switching to Halifax does not solve my worries about delays if they are so busy in the South East as well...

    Update: mortgage offer was in the post yesterday!

    Full application made and survey paid - 01/05/14
    Survey took place - 07/05/14
    Received Home Buyers Report - 08/05/14
    Received full mortgage offer - 13/05/14

    12 days (of which 8 were working days) for the whole process, quite impressed with the speed...not so much with the interest rate we got in the end, mind, but nothing we can do about that.

    My surveyor was at my property within 2 days of being instructed... I'm South Coast if it helps.

    Application submitted and survey paid: Monday 12th May
    Survey booked in with seller: Tuesday 13th May
    Survey being carried out: Friday 16th May
