    Hiya

I'm a nosey sort of baker and was wondering...

Why does my bi-carb fizz when I add it to the melted butter, syrup ad water mix ? They taste scrummy so I'm not worried it's wrong but it always tickles me just how much fizz a tiny bit of bi-carb can create!

And what does th bi-carb do for the recipie (apart from fizz :rotfl:)

    Thanks
    Your ever-so-enquizitive Shortie

well, i did it! i melted the white chocolate with the butter before mixing with dry ingredients. The biscuits spread out more whilst cooking so are flatter than usual but they taste really nice and for some reason they are a little bit sparkly! Ideal for xmas!! :)

Wanted to make some of these for Christmas and had planned to add dried cranberries for a festive twist, but forgot to buy any so in the end, I chopped up the leftover brazil nuts I'd bought for my Christmas cake.....about 50g....and added those to the mixture and the biscuits were lovely.

i made them last week and put them in cake cases so they didnt spread out and put more mixture in. I cooked them slightly longer than usual and got more of a cakey type thick biscuit. they were very nice and dh has asked for them again.
