That's a bit much, think with AA it was about £10 or so.

Used to do day trips from Hastings all the time as a kid - driving that road with the sharp bends and steep hill is a killer with a car loaded full of plonk or when tired.
Last day trip we did was in October - we landed at Dunkirk and drove into Bruges.
I know exactly where you mean.....just as you go into Winchelsea.
Last time I went on a day trip to Bruges, we had really bad gales so got held up in Dover for a bit....and than delays coming back. The Very Right Honourable Lady Tarry of the Alphabetty thread-I just love finding bargains and saving moneyI love to travel as much as I can when I canLife has a way to test you, it's how you deal with this that matters0 -

One bit of advice on the day trip would be this.
If you are going to Boulogne, then trying to go to Belgium as well is quite a tall order for a few hours trip.
Just go to Boulogne, have a nice picnic (get some stuff from the supermarkets - baguettes, ham, cheese, wonderful roast chicken, pate, salad etc) on the coastal route - we use Cap Blanc Nez because of the views.0 -
but if you do decide to go my recommendation for a day would be le touquet about 15m from boulgne very quaint thatched cottages and a very English feel to it. a firther 10 m is abbeyville with a nice beach
What on earth are you on about?
And what do you mean by “15m” (sic) – 15 miles or 15 minutes?
Either way, you’re hugely incorrect and you’re misleading the OP badly in regard to planning the trip.
The distance from Boulogne to Le Touquet is 21 miles using the D119, or 24 miles using the autoroute (A16). The journey time (which is the critical factor on a day-trip) is shorter by the autoroute; about 40 minutes as opposed to 55 minutes using the D119.
(My own preferred route between them, however, is to start off on the autoroute and switch across to the D119 at Junction 27, south of Hardelot.)
“Abbeyville” (sic) is in Ireland.
Abbeville is a charmless town, situated a full 37 miles south of Le Touquet and the journey time between them is 50 minutes.
It hasn’t got a beach; it’s 12 miles (about half an hour) inland from St-Valery-sur-Somme.Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance
