I am on a 24 month contract with Orange since December from a phone I got at P4U store. Have been having signal issues since then. Have had phone and sim card replaced, fobbed off all the time. Finally on Saturday I got to speak to who seemed like a nice English gentleman and he said try the sim in another phone over Sunday/Monday and if the problem still exists, he will tell his manager to cancel my contract. 3 phone calls later and 3 urgent emails sent by the incompetent staff at Orange, still waiting to hear back. Last time I rang was this morning but he has not logged in yet. My phone is broken and do not have a decent phone to browse the net or make calls/texts. Getting an iPhone 5 on Three when the contract is cancelled I assume it would be sensible to wait until it is cancelled as I cannot afford 2 contracts. just getting inpatient and need a phone which works. Plus have budgeted I hope to get the iPhone today or tomorrow. What should I do?
Cheers

Don't get another contract until your current one is confirmed as cancelled. Just because someone at their call centre says they will cancel, doesn't mean that they will. It's usually the last thing they want to do.0

Yeah I get you. Thing is this guy was a team leader in level 2 technical support. And promised to tell his manager to cancel my contract. He said he would not sell me the contract given the signal is so bad in my area as he checked0

I will wait of course it is the logical thing to do0

Doesn't matter.
Orange may deny ever saying that to you. And they may decide not to cancel the contract.
So chase it up and get it sorted with orange first and confirmed in writing before considering a move to Three.0 -
Up to you, but if it was me I'd wait the extra day or so to be sure.0

Listen what I am saying is the guy gave me his extension so all I had to do is ring and say it. Just he hasnt been in. Confirmed in writing? I dont have a working phone atm as mine broke down. Yes I will wait for his call the shiny iPhone 5 is attractive to me right not but if I have any sanity then I will wait. trust me the call centre know on my account it is said that there is an urgent message to the attention of team leader level 2 tech support0

I would also need to find out what my final bill is and if they can scrap it because of the stress they have caused me. They are not doing any favors in the first place that is when they should have let me go right from at least 3 months in0

Sure. But i've heard this before and 90% of the time it's always fallen through.0

Depends what you have heard. Like I said have already wrote to them and EE replied saying I have to pay 400 odd quid. Even though it was a complaint letter. I have the Ciscas form if needed0

Well yeh.... that's just cancelling your contract and paying the termination fee...?
I was under the assumption they were cancelling your contract free of charge?0
