If you buy the pre-packed chicken fillets, buy the packs with four fillets in. I buy three of the packs, then when I get home, I split the packs into 4 sets of three fillets each and I then get four meals from three packs. Hope that makes sense.

I find two fillets aren't enough to make a curry/casserole etc but three generally is. If you buy the packs with three in, the pack is gone, if you buy four fillets in, you get the fourth meal "free". (NB I always make enough curry to freeze a portion for another day). Basically, all I'm saying is look at the number of items in the pre-packed meat to see if you can make them stretch an extra meal...however many live in your house! HTH

morrisons own beans are lush and their value beans and sausages are very nice too, they are totally different to heinze because they taste so much better.

A few for parents of babies out there.

Make a hotpot with extra veg (no salt) so all the family can eat the same meal, our little man has been eating the veg and a small bit of beef since he was about 7 months old and if we diced the veg up fairly small he can pick it up and eat it himself. You dont even have to know how to work an oven just chop any veg, root veg is best and add diced up beef, pt hot water, turn on slow cooker....wait for 4-6 hours

We swapped baby rusks for rich tea fingers when he was 9 months old as he would get too messy (along with the house) which saved us a packet. They kept him satisfied until he dinner was ready or would eat half with his morning bottle (definatly takes after his dad with that one)

Have a large part of the day (if you are at home) for nappy free time (ok helps if you have lino or and old rug) the little man likes around 2 1/2 hours and any accidents gets mopped up with something from the laundry basket.

We buy the same packs (its 2 for £6), but get 8 meals out of it as we only use 1 fillet between us. Cut them into smaller pieces and pack them out with some veg!!

Why don't you just buy a pack of two chicken fillets, "show" them to your vegetarian curry, and then put them back in the freezer. That way, you get a vegetarian chicken curry for free...for life...

I like my chicken curries, casseroles etc to have chicken in!:rotfl:

Each to their own I guess...
