Coupla tips which don't seem to have been posted -
I make my own yoghurt using two tblsp live yog, value uht and 2 tbsp value milk powder. Mix up the live yog and powder into a paste, add to hand hot milk, shove it into a thermos and ignore it for 6 hours. Keeps well for up to 5 days and can be used instead of sour cream in lots of recipes with no noticable difference in taste. I stew elderly fruit with a bit of sugar and add it in to add some sweetness. cheaper even than using a yoghurt maker, all you really need is a thermos.
Use value or supermarket own brand porridge oats instead of instant hot cereals like ready brek. They're better for you as they are whole oats and contain less added salt/sugar, and take the same amount of time to prepare on the stove as the instants do in the microwave (step dad obsessive enough about his porridge that he has actually timed this - takes him three mins to make porridge on the stove, 6 in the microwave, 3 to make readybrek in the microwave), and gas is cheaper than electricity if you have a gas cooker. Tasty breakfast and savings!0 -
I make Scotts poridge oats in the microwave in 2 mins, 1 scoop oats in bowl three scoops milk or water into bowl, add honey, great!, if he really wants to save, mix the porridge the night before and then heat the swollen oats in the morning, and electricity is much cheaper than gas*****factBennys from sunny Manchester0

If you keep putting them in the same pharmacy they will put a stop to it.
As we had that happen when we tried it to make sure my husband had enough inhalers while he had a pre-paid certificate. They put a stop asking us to go in for a review or see the Dr or something like that.
When I accidently ticked the box for one of his meds on his repeat that he had had only the week before they would not issue it to us.

Talking about using electric microwave v gas-stove, not heating the whole house! :rotfl: :rotfl:Bennys from sunny Manchester0

Eh? News to me and everyone else! Try heating your house with electricity for a winter then come back and say it is more efficient (cheaper) than a combi-gas boiler! I don't think so!

I only have a gas cooker so I cant really compare..
But all my heating is electric, and I know my bills are usually much higher than some of my gas friends. In the winter I put approx £30 per week on my electric key. £120 per month, from approx October to April about 6mths.. so £720 in the winter months.. and about £6 per week in the summer months. £144 for the summer.

Edited to add: Actually My winter Electric bill would be abit higher, but I have a small gas (bottle) fire too, which stops me using one of the other electric storage heaters.
