That's a stupid attitude as jobcentre normally suggests volunteering
only when they think you want to sit at home all day. if you want to do it its a different matter. its their mission to work out what you dont want to do and then tell you to do that.

they also say you have to job search 30 hours a week and you cant do both
i'm on a daft course all week and yet somehow i must also do several hours jobsearch activity per day. i guess free time is a luxury only afforded to the employed now.

you choose it though. everyone should be able to have free time. no-one should have to do 12+ hours per day for jsa.

this course is looking like same old, same old at the moment but its early days. there are far too many people on the course and we were squashed into a tiny room. they promised tea and coffee for breaks. at lunch there was no milk so we had to go without at lunch. we had to do literacy and numeracy tests. they mentioned people arent allowed to do more than 16 hours training per week. well we are there for 6 hours each day and there are 1hr 40mins of breaks in total per day. it doesnt take a genius to work out that we do more than 16 hours over the 4 days each week.

I chose to look every day all day (7 days a week) in case I miss something. If I miss a day due to say being at the WP (when I was) and traveling etc Id spend all night looking.

It's alright when it's a jobcentre course or WP stuff though isn't it? Hypocrites they are
