Logged into UJM, Standards of Behaviour have been updated, which you need to agree to, to proceed.

They have updated 7.1 by adding "cover letter" which did not use to be there.

7.1 You are responsible for the accuracy of your CV, cover letter or any other information that you place on this site.

Unfortunately they forgot to update date at top in 1.2, which still says 1 March 2013.

1.2 This page was last updated on 01 March 2013.

There is now a Cover Letter Library option at top of UJM pages.

What is so silly, is they don't tell people this option has been added when they login.

    Cover letter? Really? LOL

I logged in last night and never saw that.

The JC told me you don't need one to apply for a job when I told her I would not use the site as there was no where to put one and they then told me ALL sites in the UK don't have a place to put a cover till I showed her screen shots of Reed, Monster, Jobsite etc :)

I am still amazed that this was said to you, it's always a letter/e-mail with CV and yet your adviser claimed otherwise

She told me lots of people who sign with her say other sites have NO cover letter option.

I was not going to let her say that so I told her they are lying and not using these sites or are too thick to notice. Came home and took screen shots of three sites and emailed to her

I don't understand. Surely a cover letter is essential?

of course it is hence me telling the JC I wasn't applying for jobs via the site unless they got a section for a cover letter. Yes I know before anyone points out you can attach a cover letter to your CV but just how many CV's and covers can you have there? 1000? A different one for each job you apply for over the time?
    I bet not.

Monster made the site yet amazed no one at the UJM asked them till now for a cover letter section.

    Just had a look

You can only add 5 cover letters but here is hoping you can see what one you used for each application?

    UJM started in Nov 2012.

It's taken DWP/Jobcentre/Monster this long to update website, who knows why !

Maybe they are realising the primary purpose should be to help people find jobs, not play political games.

Next thing you know they'll be treating people with dignity and courtesy and actually listening to them

Otherwise if it were simply down to numbers all the other 511 need do is keep applying and their 'turn' to get a job will come round.
lol, thats like saying if you keep going on the lottery you will win one day.
