Didnt say it did but suggesting that you should only look monday to friday is ridiculous
Specifying number of hours job search on JSAGS is relatively new and to fill in until Universal Credit comes in.
There must be legal issues about what is reasonable to expect.
If advisors cobble together JSAGS writing random things down without make it absolutely clear, considering someones only source of income depends on it, is pretty silly.0 -

I agree with that mon-fri for the whole year wouldn't be enought. However I also think the claiment should entitled to some time off and a bit of a break on the weekend every so often should be allowed. I understand while we can't go away during the week and appreciate that but can't understand while the occasional weekend beak Saturday am till Sunday pm isn't allowed. Or is it? It is something I have been meaning to ask my advisor but keep forgetting.0 -

of course its allowed as long as the claimant is taking the steps agreed over their benefit week( which is different for everyone) then they will be fine.
But I feel she is just saying claimants should do as little as possible over as short as period as possible. They are never going to move forward like that people should want to do everything they can to find work and if they are then they wouldn't need to worry about their jsag as they would be doing well above what was in there anyway, as you and AP007 seem to be doing.0 -

Is your advisor sensible & reasonable, or will they tell you something to cover their backs ?
There is nothing in law that says you have to do 7 days a week job search.
The fact that JSAGs have been amended to include things like this "3 hours a day", something they were never designed for and is not in the law.0 -
People may want time off the job search but it don't bother me as I have nothing else to do.
To be honest it wouldn't bother me either but I have a six year old and I hope no one will hold it against me to want him to be able to go away for the occasional weekend. I have other stuff to do not for me i rarely do/go anywhere for myself but I have a child that needs looking after0 -
Christmas Day is a Public Holiday for everyone.
There need to be safeguards so that jobseekers are not expected to look 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The common sense and safeguards from DWP, Jobcentres and advisors is lacking.0
