Drinking non-alcoholic wine is like going into a horhouse and just having a look..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

IMHO yes it is way too much.

Of course i am completely the other way and would be lucky to have 3 glasses of wine per week almost always with a meal.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

my father in law was a alcoholic, and it's what killed him.

and he said it's never what's in the glass, it's the rhythm of the glass.

You need that glass next to you, and need to pick it up and drink it, and it makes you feel better.

we managed to get him off strong stuff, and onto weak lager, and he was happy with that.

Maybe try and get him, to have a bottle of wine over 2 nights but add soda water to it, to make it go further.

This is what I was trying to get at, but didn't put it that well.

Compare it to smoking. Our place of work has just become a no smoking site. A lot of people were saying its not about the actual smoking, but having something to do with your hands when you are bored, hence a lot of people switched to the electric cigs and are quite happy with that after getting used to it.

They still have something to "pretend smoke" during their breaks / quiet times.

OP dont even think you can control his drinking or make him change. It will only end in tears. It isnt your responsibility,it isnt your job and it wont work. Its for him to do and for you to tolerate if you choose to.

It sounds like a lot to me. And if its every week then it sort of suggests that he cannot do without it.
Has he considered what it might be doing to his health?
Married my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j
