I feel as though I have caught up with the house this week and as I live on my own (and should clear up as I go along!) the maintenance should be easier when I go back to work. Do any of you live on your own and if so, do you have any different routines eg clean spare rooms once a month only or clean anything less often than when family were at home?

    SL

    Hi SL

I live on my own, I tend to clean the spare rooms once a month but try to open the windows in there at the weekends. Sometimes if I'm hettying the landing I'll do the spare rooms as well but only dust etc once a month. If I was to have someone to stay I'd give the room a clean before they arrive and when they leave. HTH

    My flying today:

Hettyed hallway, stairs, landing, spare room, kitchen, bathroom & sun room
    Shower & sink cleaned.
    Loo S&S'd
WM x 2 - both loads hung on the line and dried before the heavens opened
WM but on a clean cycle with soda crystals
    microwave wiped
    kitchen cleaned
    washing up done
Bedding changed, fresh linen put on the bed

Need to do ironing tonight (lucky me!)

    Have a lovely weekend all

Evening all! Glad to see we're back up and running! Had a great time in London yesterday but was back late and, consequently, slept for most of the morning - ooops :o

Valli, I may pop in for the odd post early next week, but it won't be a flying week for me. Unless you count Thomson Airlines ;)

Ditto that (from Tues - Fri anyway), although my flying is with BA :)

be warned ladies - the flylady whip was cracked last night and look what happened!

    :rotfl:

I have an excuse...hehehe. My house is still in a blooming pickle, furniture all over the place and definately not in it's right place.

I can't even get to the main kitchen stuff to clean it, let alone use my cooker. I lost my bin about 4 weeks ago, thankfully it's empty..lol

Awwwww - I'll be with you on Monday. If you could make it the front room, kitchen and bathroom so I can get all of downstairs ready for Dad to see when he comes to feed the ratties that would be great :o

I could then tackle upstairs at the weekend in between going to football and to see the Levellers!

Off to bed now - night all, sleep well xx

What (childs) age is it inappropriate for a parent to barge into the bathroom when a child of the opposite sex is batheing/showering/naked?? .. thinking particularly male parent and female child in this instance.

I wouldn't go in if (on the rare occasion) my boys (21/17/14) were in the bathroom.. unless DS3 was unresponsive and I had concerns about his level of consciousness.. I don't have issues with nudity, we all have a body, but I respect their right to privacy.

    Bedtime in here too!!!

My blanket border is about half the length it needs to be.. I've not measured it to be sure but it is pretty long!

Hoping the thunder and lightning makes it over here from the other side of the Pennines.. the air is really thick and gloopy here.
