  • Hi there. A quick post, only, fom me, as we are like Ionafan, and have the builders in! We needed work doing, that we have been planning for a while, but then our 'good' builder had a cancellation at the last minute, so here we are, in a mess! 'New' cat has been very brave and not hidden away - lol - I think he's been too hot to care - the men are working in the heavy rain today - after one complained of heatstroke yesterday!

So I've been S and S'ing only, and making copious hot and cold drinks all round. They are due to finish today so we then have to clean through and get sorted as we are in our hols from Sat am, still need to do cleaning and shopping for sick friend tomorrow - get hair cut and see friend on Friday, and am working up to Thursday.

Good wishes all round and hi to any newcomers. Happy birthday wishes to all those flyladies who have been or are celebrating this week. I hope you are truly spoilt! Good health vibes coming everyone's way, too. Bye for now, R x

Does this mean there will be no forum ALL weekend??

Forum downtime: the MSE forum will be read only this weekend from 5pm, Friday 26 July

What are we all going to do??

What we should be doing when we aren't on here?

    Personally I'm dreading it...

I've already checked for free eb@y listings... no news yet :(

Then again, there is the Zombie walk in aid of the Children's Hospital on Saturday, so not entirely stuck for things to do. :)

I mean, my accountant must be missing me as it's that time again :D

  • Finally sitting with a cuppa. Made my own list (of really horrible jobs) for today. This is what I'm spending my holidays doing - must be mad! My daughter had a baby last year and as I was helping so much everything seemed to fall behind. Not quite so happy today as house seems dirtier than ever! ......... must be cause some areas are now clean, it's showing everything else up! Decided to have a pack of wipes in every room and clean something each day in every room I go in to. Also made cleaning box to keep upstairs so that I have no more excuses for not having the right stuff.

    jobs today

cleaned oven - racks still to be done
REALLY cleaned porch (wiped, swept, moped, cleaned glass, feather dusted) and sorted cupboards
ended up cleaning out cleaning cupboard!!
made up bag of unused toiletries ie false eyelashes which will never be used for charity shop
cleaned all the little nooks and crannies of the patio door frames

loving the blanket pigpen. I am putting off knitting/crocheting until the darker nights draw in and I can hunker down in a cosy (clean) house!

    cleaning vibes to you all

Lamewolf Letting go of stuff that you still really like sounds too painful to me. You never know - a cure may happen along just as you get rid of it. I'm with Pigpen and Ionafan: keep everything you really like for high days and holidays and let anything that you won't miss go.
Thanks for the replies, Piggers, Ionafan (website bookmarked, ta muchly) and HB.:A:A:A
The trouble is, it's all stuff I like. Some time ago, (over a year I think) I had a major, pretty ruthless, turf out, encouraged by my Flylady friends, one drawer at a time, trying everything on with Mr LW's help - all except one item of the stuff I'm talking about survived that process so I'd be very hard put to choose what to keep and what to dispose of.

Actually, thinking about it, I've only had two new tops in over a year - a t-shirt that Mr LW bought me, which I can get on with no problem (with help) that bears the quote "Though she be but little, she is fierce" and a beautiful red-and-black top from a local establishment which sadly I have trouble getting on currently. It fits fine once it's on, it's just getting my shoulders into a position to put on something with long sleeves in non-stretchy material, without screaming in agony, is the problem. The tale behind me getting that top, btw, is that I'd gone into the shop to buy incense, and, a very rare thing for me, saw the top displayed on the wall, and immediately loved it.

Uh, oh, I'm rambling. This is not good. I shall go away and make a few pathetic flapping motions now (my contribution to Flying today):D
