Did you by any chance go shopping after your trip to the cinema?

Oh dear, the OP has logged off after only one post. He obviously decided not to follow through on this occasion.

I remember this warning well. My dad was always a bit naughty around christmas time, he was always finding the chocolate oranges that my mother had wrapped, and other goodies and eating them in secret. Every year my mother tried to find better and better hiding places, so he enlisted me to help and I got a share of the spoils.

Once year we couldn't find anything at all, she had given up and said she was going to buy it all the day before we gave them away, so in revenge we stole the giant box of toffee she was given for christmas. Now, my mother is diabetic, so it was a box of Thorntons Best Sugar Free Toffee, which we promptly demolished in an hour.

Well me and my dad were fighting over the single loo for days afterwards, and my mother just stood around laughing and saying we deserved it. We still went hunting next year though :p

Never heard of acesulfame-k causing this problem and a quick web search shows no corroboration.

You didn't search very far did you?

The culprit is usually sorbitol, and products containing it carry a clear warning of this possible effect if you eat more than a few.
Sorbitol isn’t listed in the ingredients.

Needs http or maybe not tinypic.com/r/14b52zc/5

The warning isn’t very clear is it?

    May cause laxative effects.

    And how many are excessive?

I normally eat a 100g bag of boiled sweets when at the pictures with no ill effects.

    These were only 44g

Sugar free or normal? I can't imagine cinemas going down the specific route of sugar free?

If something says that eating them *may* have a laxative effect, and you eat them and get that effect, you can't exactly complain as you were warned.

And whilst you may eat an entire pack of sweets in one go, most people will keep a bag around the house/in their handbag etc and have the odd one or two... Especially people eating sugar free sweets, as many are on a diet etc. or are diabetic and well aware of the effects.
Perhaps next time when eating food that may have a laxative effect, minimise what you stuff in one end and you'll minimise what shoots out the other.

    Looks pretty clear to me.

And there you go, it also says if you're not entirely satisfied they'll give you your money back. Sorted.

Aldi do great nappies. Perhaps you should have picked up a pack along with your sweeties.

I like to rant about people who waste their doctors time because they follow through the once.......
