I currently have a Samsung P1000 Tablet but realise that it is not very fast or efficient these days and am thinking of getting either an iPad or more modern Samsung Tablet.
I like the tablet I have, although do get annoyed at Samsung moving the apps around, but also have an iphone and do like that and am wondering which is the best option to invest in, either Samsung tablet or ipad.
Any comments regarding experiences and advantages/disadvantages to them both would be really appreciated. :rotfl:

I have an iPad and. Am very happy with it. After getting my iPhone I knew I wouldn't be happy with any other tablet so I saved up a bit longer for it.Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0

Oh dear. Stand by for a 300+ post thread of Samsung/android V iPad!
I have a Samsung Note 10.1, I think it's every bit as good as an iPad if not better and I don't have to deal with iTunes making life a whole lot simpler.
But if iTunes didn't exist and you could manage the iPad as easily (without jailbreaking it) then I might well have one as they are decent tablets.
If you like Apple products and can cope with Itunes, then go for the iPad.0 -
Here goes, an Asus Google Nexus 7, or a Samsung Google Nexus 10.That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Is there anyway you could try them before buying? Both have pros and cons (the most obvious one is that you can only get apps from the App store if you buy an Apple device). Although it doesn't matter to a lot of people but it's better to do research before buying one.
Another thing I have noticed is that Samsung Tab 2 seems sluggish and lags when compared to iPads.0 -
I've been happy with both iPads I have owned - and iPad 1 and currently an iPad 2. I only upgraded to an iPad 2 because my mum said she was thinking of buying an iPad, so I asked her if she would buy my iPad 1 so I could get an iPad 2, and she said yes.
Don't listen to the idiots who say "iPads are useless they spontaneously combust after 6 months when Apple bring out a new version so you have to upgrade". My mum is still happily using my old iPad 1, and I'm still happily using an iPad 2, we haven't had to update to iPad 4s.
I stopped using my laptop as soon as I got my iPad, it's just so much more convenient. I wouldn't like to write essays on it though (but then again, I wouldn't like to write essays on a laptop either, I'd want a desktop for that).
I never use iTunes - I don't bother backing my iPad or iPhone up - there's nothing on them I need to save apart from some pictures. I copy the pictures I want to keep to a PC via a USB cable - you don't need iTunes for that, they just act like USB storage.0 -
Your best bet to find out which one to buy...
Walk into a store and pick up, admire, rotate, look at, and physically use the apps on any tablet you might want to buy, then decide if the price is worth it!
It's chalk and cheese. If you know you want a high end tablet then go try them all yourself, but there are others in that category too, not just samsung, and iPad; kindle fire, Google for example.
But none of them are an investment, they're all out of date before you've even bought them0 -

I hope you back up prior to software updates? My wife never backed hers up, and when the latest software update came out she had a problem during installation and lost so many photos etc... of course it was my fault she hasnt backed her phone up since initial set up...0 -
I would push the iPad Mini over the regular iPad, doesnt have the retina display, but is a lightweight, easy to handle piece of kit.
however the android tablets are £100 cheaper across the board, and some (or all?) are more flexible on storage.
You need to go to a shop and try them all out really...0 -

Maybe. I tend to use the 'upgrade all' for app updates and some apps are now beginning to crash on my iPad 1. Facebook is an example, although fine via browser. Sweet as a nut apart from that though.0
