    Nothing (major) has happened :)

Apparently, I am strange. (Yes i know that comes as no surprise to some people :p)

It was my birthday yesterday. I was *coff* more than 40 but not near 50. OH was at work (12 hour shift) as he is today. Family situation means we don't go out in the evening.....

I have a FB account & had timeline messages wishing me a happy birthday, so...as it is in polite society , I thanked everyone this morning for their good wishes and joked that I'd had a day off from the computer, hence not thanking them til this morning.

Apparently, having a day off from the computer is nothing to be proud of & I should be ashamed! :rotfl:

I'm trying to work out who is more weird.....me... or the person who made that comment :rotfl::rotfl:

I don't understand that comment at all - do you know what they meant by that?

My birthday is sandwiched between two of my kids, so normally have a meal out for one of them, or a joint meal out for the 3 of us. I dont normally get presents, unless I buy myself something. DH birthday is beg of january, so we normally have a family meal out over christmas.

My annual visit to a bead fair (I make jewellery and beaded items) usually falls near my birthday, so we always go there.

Past few years, not only has himself worked on his birthday, but has generally been away from home at the time, on his own sleeping in the truck, so we have a special meal etc the weekend beforehand.

The kids generally get whatever meal they want for their birthdays, again usually the weekend before so everyone is here.

I would sulk for weeks if my partner and kids didn't make a fuss of me lol

Do you think they might be being sarcastic?

It means nothing other than they couldn't manage a day not being on fb so expect everyone else to be the same.. it is meant to be amusing why would anyone see anything other than a bit of fake wit implied?

If I'm not on fb for a day I have all manner of messages asking if I am still alive!

Nowadays most of us spend more time than we'd care to admit online, actually I'm beyond caring now. I enjoy being online & that's that, birthday or not! However, I never, ever, tell the world my business on FB, the last thing on my mind is FB when I'm out enjoying m'self. I suppose at one time I would've thought that people on the internet had no life, but now I understand for many of us that the internet is our lives.

As for my birthday, I go on holiday & I will accept nothing less these days, life's too short :D

I always want to celebrate my birthday, but having been single for xx number of years it just comes and goes. Yes, my mother sends me a card and a gift and I really appreciate it, but I do feel upset that so few of my friends remember it. My (so-called) best friend apologises every year for forgetting to get me a card. I'm not worth the expediture or effort I guess especially as she always goes on about how she loves getting special cards for her birthday and is even a bit offended if she gets Christmas card which are out of a set of 10 or whatever!

For DH and DD and DS, meals out for their birthdays. Sometimes they are working, sometimes not. DD has tried most years to coincide a holiday for her birthday (but not with us). For their 18th's - big parties. They also had parties for most birthdays when they were younger. DH and I do not do parties for us.

For me, DH always takes me away for a couple of days to a nice hotel where we both take the opportunity to relax.

Cards, we're just getting to the stage of saying don't bother, always get presents but not always on the day, depends what we need/want and when.
Spend less now, work less later.

I imagine it was an implied insult.(in the realms of there's so much more to life than being online)

Or she may have been being sarcastic. I doubt it...I can have quite a sarcastic nature myself & i didn't take it as that but who knows?

Maybe it was just a throwaway comment & I'm reading more into it than necessary :)

    God forbid i might be hormonal:eek: :D
