Oh, so you used the Agency to find you an honest, reliable cleaner, then dumped them?
It was her idea! They were charging me £12 and paying her £5.50 - she didn't think that was fair and I agreed.Mortgage (original/ current):193,000 (23/09/11)/ £102,500 (07/11/2019)

I have 2 cleaning jobs, one at £6.50 per hour and one at £7.50. I love cleaning and find it really satisfying tbh, i like lamby love doing windows (infact did ours yesterday!)..i love doing everything actually!
Makes me laugh when people diss cleaners as looking at the wages above it is better paid than a lot of jobs!0 -
A lady I work for pays someone £20 for 1 hour a week to clean. Wouldnt care but her house is spotless anyway and seems this cleaner doesnt really do much.Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0

Oh, so SHE used the Agency to find her work, then she STOLE their client. Very honest and trustworthy (not), hope she doesn't end up stealing from you. I'm not saying the Agency fee wasn't excessive BUT why would you both agree to the terms if you weren't happy?? Let me guess, we all know that a good, HONEST, reliable cleaner is very difficult to find, and of course some mug at the Agency does all the leg work, recruiting, vetting and advertising for charity ..............................0 -

hi all,
thought id tell you about my job. i work 2 days per week as a housekeeper for a very very well known VIP who pays me 8 pounds an hour and is very flexible. (plus the references are very useful) and i also do private houses which are charged at 10 pounds per hour as i supply my own cloths and cleaning materials and vac, this is very popular as the clients havent got to rush out when the claeaners due tto buy all the stuff themselves. i dont advertise and am very picky on who i clean for as i dont do dirty houses. i live in brum
I love that:rotfl::D0 -
I recently took on a cleaner, we agreed to £45 per clean, she did it twice, the first time we were out, the second time I was in and amazed that she was only here 2 1/2 hours for the price. The third time was this week and she rang up ill, it was a nice warm sunny day.
I decided that she was taking the !!!! given the rate I was paying her. All she did was send me a text message asking if she could do it this monday instead. I rang her up and said I thought a fair price would be £25 in future for the amount of work she was doing. Told me that that was her rate and good luck.
Pretty sure I will have no problem finding a replacement for less.0 -
We run a cleaning business in Shropshire and am amazed by how undervalued cleaners actually are across this nation. We also run a gardening operation which can be just as hard work and they command £20 - £25 per hour.
We currently charge between £13 & £16 per hour for regular cleaning - although the goverment do get their 17.5% of this. I still think this is low and would urge all cleaners out there to up your rates into double figures - there's a reson your being paid - and that's worth something!0 -
