29/06/20 - AIP granted.
30/06/20 - Full application submitted.
03/07/20 - Direct debit queries.
07/07/20 - Mortgage approved subject to valuation this morning!
I've found the process very quick and easy so far, and the broke has been 100% superb!
congratilations!!My broker is telling me Santander don’t give a decision subject to valuation. I thought that wasn’t the case and you’ve just proved it! Grrrrr0 -
@Creditfixer3021 I went through a broker, he came very highly recommended and has kept me updated 100% of the way. Very impressed so far but he seemed pretty confident to start with, saying it was straight forward (but this is my second time, disaster application last year ha)!

I had a mortgage agreed before the lockdown - after the survey result we needed to negotiate the price which meant that we needed to get the mortgage offer re-issued. This used to be a very simple process, though the banks are twitchy so we near enough had to go through a full mortgage application again. 5 weeks later, finally got the mortgage offer reissued - honestly, never thought we'd see this day!0

Those who have noticed, I’ve been all over this thread in the past week 😅 I checked our online application this morning and it’s changed again!
The text at the top of the page yesterday, said “being reviewed by an underwriter” and when I called at lunch time, that was indeed the case.
This morning, it’s says “application is under review” and this is when the application is locked for editing! So now I’m paranoid and itching to call them again to find out what’s happening. No update as yet, so I’m lost as to who’s reviewing it and what’s being reviewed! I wish HSBC online application system would be more specific and up to date in terms of status of an application. It’s frustrating when you don’t hear anything and the online system blows hot or cold which seems like a mind game to me! So I’m really paranoid now as surely it’s a yay or nay once application is reviewed by underwriter. No text, no call, no update. 😭😭😭
When will this wait come to an end?0 -
Heston - id love to have that level of info. Mine just has under review then approved (then offer expiry). It has been on review since the day of my application and only gets ticked when the mortgage is offered!
i only know the valuation is booked as the sales manager of the new build told me!0 -
Another Santander one here. I posted on another thread that specifically asked but in case it's helpful for people here, too:
AIP: 22nd
Full application and notification of valuation being lined up: 23rd
25th: Follow up about gifted deposit and annual bonuses
29th: Request for June payslips
2nd: Broker tells me it's been approved
3rd: Confirmation text and email come through in the morning
Now just waiting for the paperwork!0 -
Broker came back to me today saying no valuation results had been reported yet and still waiting on the information I gave to be reviewed. After ringing skipton yesterday I know valuation has been recieved and updated the information over the phone.
I rang again this morning, couldn't help myself. 1 more confirmation of a question and they said I should get an offer within 24-48hours.
Does this mean a definite yes to the mortgage? He did say offer and not decision.... My heads working overtime.
Also rang my home survey people to get an update, paid for it 3 weeks ago. For some reason they can't explain, it hasn't even been allocated to be done, FUMING.
Anyway, by Friday hopefully we should know more0 -

I’ve just rang them and got throughly fairly quickly. Underwriter has a couple of queries regarding the property we are buying and also our mortgage payments on the first one.
Should get a call or email tomorrow, hopefully, that will determine whether they will lend to us or not. Was told by the advisor to ignore status on the online application, if underwriter has any queries, would hear from them directly.
If we satisfy their queries, hoping to get a decision Thursday or Friday, yay or nay.
I just want the wait to be over, whatever the outcome may be. We’ve been through this journey so many times, mortgage application process is a horrible experience to go through, whether or not case is straightforward. It’s the wait and unknown that is more stressful in my experience.
If I won the lottery, I’d just pay cash and never go through a mortgage application again, but I don’t play the lottery, so there goes that. 😂
Good luck to everyone awaiting decision from the powerful mortgage lenders that have us in the palm of the underwriter’s hands. 😅0
