04th/05th June, L&C are absolutely brilliant - although they can't submit an application due to broker limits (HSBC were working over capacity) they are up front, honest and helpful and suggest we try going solo.
06th-7th June We try solo. We get an AIP, two AIPs.. but after two days of trying cannot complete an application through portal and book a phone appt with an advisor.
18th June - telephone appointment. We get third AIP from HSBC. I was impressed with the HSBC advisor too, very helpful.
Friday 3rd July - Valuation day
Today, 6th July - Offer!
It was worth it for the LTV and rate.
Congratulations @Facknats Thanks for sharing your timeline.1 -
Update on my end!
Received a text from Nationwide today saying they have issued a mortgage offer.
Not seen it yet, hopefully it will be here tomorrow 😁1 -
Congratulations new offer holders! I wonder if the good news text can arrive at any time i.e. night and day? Or during business hours only?0

It’s been a week since the offer. Submitted my application on the 4th July To West Brom and they did a hard credit check the same day. How am I only 3 days in this impatient! I keep telling myself if credit check was bad they would have said no today but that’s just me trying to keep calm. We are so complicated so it’s stressful.0

Morning folks, another day in the waiting game. Question, we have received the paperwork from our solicitors regarding deposits, terms etc. At what point do we instruct the survey? Is it after we receive an offer from the bank? I feel nervous otherwise as our AIP got referred, broker submitted full application but obviously we don’t know at all if they would be in a position to lend. Really don’t want to be wasting money if I can help it.0

We instructed our solicitor to carry out searches the same week we submitted our full application. This is on the basis that searches can take weeks and IF we don’t get approved for the mortgage, it would mean we’d lose that money, however, as the conveyancing company offers a free search package next time we use them, even if our purchase doesn’t go through this time, we won’t lose out (assuming we still go through another house purchase if this one falls through, hopefully not but I like to have a plan B or have worst case scenario just to be mentally prepared 😂).
Hoping we will have some news on our mortgage decision this week, then as searches were requested last week, should be expecting those back in the next couple of weeks. We have a tight timeline, completion by end of July. Ambitious but it was the vendor’s terms and we are doing everything we can to not delay anything at our end, hence, we are prepared to cut our losses on the searches if we’re not able to proceed without mortgage approval. Again, worst case scenario but hopefully, won’t be necessary and we can grab those keys to our new home in a few weeks! 🤞🏽

Fingers crossed for you Heston!
I mean in relation to the structural survey? I probably sound thick but this is all so new to us.1 -
Hi everyone! Quick update for anyone waiting on Santander.
29/06/20 - AIP granted.
30/06/20 - Full application submitted.
03/07/20 - Direct debit queries.
07/07/20 - Mortgage approved subject to valuation this morning!
I've found the process very quick and easy so far, and the broke has been 100% superb!
