  • -Offer accepted sometime in Feb
    -AIP with NatWest 07-Mar-19
    -Full application submitted 14-Mar-19

    Now the wait...

And now the survey is booked for Friday :-D Fingers crossed!
  • Oh its so exciting yet so nerve wracking. Our mortgage app went in Monday

    18/03: Full App
20/03: Valuation Booked for Monday 25th March
  • Natwest declined our mortgage just then :(

They advised it was because of a notice of correction on my credit file, which our MB had already explained to them was because my name was spelled wrong on the electoral roll and looked as though I wasn't on it (this came up on my remortgage last year).

    Onto Accord now.

Gutted to hear that.... Seems so daft when it can be explained.

I know :-( Apparently they said our person characteristics don't "fit" either, which my MB said they tend to say quite a lot, and isn't useful at all!

Gutted, but onto the next one, hopefully we have more luck with Accord. Good luck for the rest of your application x
  • To update my timeline:

    2/3 - second viewing
    4/3- offer made
4/3 - offer rejected, buyer countered
    4/3 - offer accepted
4/3 - new DIP at higher price
    7/3 - met with broker
8/3 - mortgage application submitted to Kensington
8/3 - ID, deposit proof received at estate agents, chased broker to send DIP so the house can go off the market
13/3 - pack arrives from sols, fees different so referred back to look into
15/3 - proof of deposit received by Kensington with payslip and p60 also requested. Valuation is now booked
18/3 - EA not sent pack yet as they are waiting on the seller going in to sign something, and she didnt arrive as expected on Saturday. Will update me as soon as possible so pack can go out, and house should go SSTC online following the survey. Which is booked for the 19th!
19/3 - posted instruction to Sols

Barely in the whole thing and already annoyed by delays, hah!

20/03 - Survey happened, so the EA took the house off as SSTC and is sending the pack. Yay
21/03 - Kensington request more bank statements to prove deposit source, also the surveyor thinks they've seen damp so we've been asked to arrange a Damp and Timber survey ASAP.
We live in a damp rental now and haven't noticed any of the usual signs there, so hopefully this won't pop anything up. D&T report should take place next Weds. So £200 down and fingers crossed. Once this is in if all OK current SLA for Kensington is apparently 2 working days for underwriting.

    Hi all,

First time buyer here with Skipton Building Society. Timeline below:

    22/02 - House viewed
    22/02 - Offer submitted
    29/02 - Offer rejected
    29/02 - New offer submitted
    01/03 - Offer accepted
12/03 - Mortgage submitted via broker
19/03 - Valuation (come back fine)

Currently awaiting anymore information. However, my Skipton mortgage tracker states that the case was underwritten on 20/03 and requires more information! As my broker hadn’t been in touch since the submission I contacted Skipton myself who said they needed 3 more details.

Broker finally got back to me after being ill on 21/03 and gave me an update saying they spoke to Skipton and everything is fine and they have everything they need and it is final stages of the underwriting.

So either the broker is lying or Skipton are! Broker said I should have an offer either Monday/Tuesday so I hope they’re correct.

15/03 - Broker submitted full mortgage application to Leeds Building Society
15/03 - Check application online (via brokers portal) and broker has made several mistakes on everything from addresses to financial info :( so have emailed them a list of all the errors, hopefully they resolve first thing on Monday.
    Update

18/03 - Mortgage broker sent corrections to Leeds

21/03 - Chased L&G on evaluation date - turns out its not L&G as broker originally suggested and after a call to Leeds BS, turns out its Countrywide (CW), except when I CW they don't have anything on the system for that address, turns out they have the wrong postcode (due to brokers mistakes on original application) so have to ring Leeds BS to get them to correct post code and then get the HA to speak to CW.
21/03 - Evaluation booked for 26/3 (thanks to all my chasing above)
21/03 - Check with my solicitor, legal pack still not received from HA's solicitors
22/03 - Leeds have take £35 funds transfer fee
22/03 - Closing statement received and scanned/sent to solicitor
22/03 - Emailed HA solicitor to chase legal pack and then told off by my solicitor :embarasse as apparently you aren't supposed to contact them (not that they replied anyway). Have emailed HA to chase their solicitor on the pack.

So that's if for now. I'm just glad that my annoying need to check things constantly and micromanage has paid off and I've flagged up a number of mistakes that could have delayed the final approvals. Now just waiting on the evaluation on Tuesday and hoping that my solicitors will get the pack on Monday.
