Haha, yes, but there actually turned out to be a problem, where someone else at the EA office booked the mortgage valuation at the same time as the surveyor, and so he couldn't get in and will have to reschedule. Hopefully for this week.
But at least the valuation was done, although I don't know when they'll tell me the result of that, if at all.0 -

Viewing, offer, & offer accepted w/c 24/09/18
Met mortgage advisor + had DIP from Clydesdale w/c 1/10/18.
Now expecting to wait 3-4 weeks for full mortgage application to conclude.
Somehow have to put the property our of my mind until there is more certainty, argh!
Valuation instructed 5.10.18
Experian credit check 8.10.18
Valuation: 11.10.18
Valuation report from surveyor 15.10.18
Response from Clydesdale 23.10.18
Response was to request 1 more payslip + ask for a specialist survey on something the valuer picked up. So, prob another week minimum til we get the report from that survey and who knows how long til Clydesdale respond after that...Starting debt (Aug 2018) £17,900

OK, I'll join in as well as we haven't been having a straight-forward time and only just put in application!
28/7 - DIP from L&C
Aug - Started looking at properties in new city then decided to rent for now.
24/9 - First viewing of 'the' house.
28/9 - Second viewing.
1/10 - Verbal offer put in and accepted.
1/10 - Solicitor put in official offer & we tried to contact L&C but couldn't get through to them.
5/10 - Still couldn't get response from L&C so went to Trussle
12/10 - Realised Trussle completely wasted our time spending a week getting a DIP. Went back to L&C with tail between our legs!
15/10 - Then realise driving licence has wrong address on and apply for a new one.
16/10 - First missive received.
18/10 - Our case with L&C randomly audited, have to wait for that to finish.
22/10 - Application goes into TSB (still no driving licence yet though).
And the waiting game begins....
We initially had 12th November as date of entry and apparently solicitor thinks it may still be achievable  Hope we know either way by 10th November, which is when we would have to give a months notice on rental!0 -

20/09/2018? – offer accepted and AIP sent over.
24/09/2018 – Solicitors forms filled in and sent
04/10/2018 – Full mortgage application sent in to the post office
08/10/2018 - Solicitor applied for searches.
It's now been 2 weeks since our application went in and we've heard nothing since, should we be worried?
We're now being told it could be another 3 weeks before we get our offer despite the fact that their website claims it usually takes 11 working days from application to offer. They haven't asked for anything extra or told us why there is a delay. We're supposed to be moving in on the 7th December.0 -

Timeline so far:
07/10 - saw house and put offer in.
08/10 - initial offer rejected. Revised slightly and reoffered.
09/10 - offer accepted (woop).
10/10 - engaged my mortgage broker.
11/10 - interview with broker and provided ID documentation.
15/10 - decided best mortgage was with Halifax. DIP received.
16/10 - mortgage application submitted to Halifax via broker.
17/10 - Halifax came back asking for further proof of deposit as they weren't happy with online ISA statement and proof that I could cover mortgage fees as I hadn't calculated these in my deposit. I have been very lucky to have been gifted the fee by my parents so I needed them to sign a letter confirming it was a gift. All sent back to Halifax via broker.
18/10 - checked bank account and survey fees have been taken by Halifax.
Is the fact the fees have been taken a good sign?! I am not sure if this is just standard practice or if it is a positive sign!
Update from me - seller let me know that the valuation has been booked for the 14/11 as this was the first date the surveyor could attend.. three weeks away !!
Halifax are being a pain in the documentation it is requesting. I transferred my HTB ISA from Halifax to Virgin in September for better interest rates. Halifax are now stating they need to see proof of three months wioth of contributions into the HTB ISA which I don't have as previous account was online and I have only made one months worth of contribution to the ISA since it was transferred to Virgin. So had to call the Halifax savings department and ask them to post me a statement of my closed account... which apparently will take a week. Why isn't anything to do with banks easy???? :mad:Trying to make my way on my MSE adventure.. Debt free since June 2018:j

Got a call from the EA this morning and was advised the seller is pulling out! i have had to scramble to get the survey cancelled.. now my MA tells me the application submitted can be on hold for a 21 days or something like that while we find another property. But I am worried that it will leave multiple hard checks on my file now? I checked my experian report and I cannot see a search from Nationwide either for DIP or the application itself yet.. any advice?

Directly with Nationwide:
12/10: DIP submitted - referred to underwriters with document request for latest payslip and evidence of last 3 bonuses
15/10: Documents submitted. DIP approved.
15/10: Offer accepted
16/10: Solicitors appointed
16/10: Full application submitted to Nationwide
19/10: Valuation booked for 23/10
23/10: Valuation done
24/10: Text to say valuation received and satisfactory
24/10: Text to say mortgage offer issued
Fair play to Nationwide, very good service and communication throughout0 -
26/10 - Recieved a phone call to be informed that the application has been assessed and the valuation has been instructed. Should be sometime next week.0
