Anyone want to join me? Awaiting Mortgage decision...

@Chanlf91 - Unfortunately we seem to be working with the worlds worst mortgage company so they are so slow with letting us know whats going on. All the information I've found out are from Aldermore directly and our builders.
I emailed them yesterday morning asking if they had requested any more paperwork and i'm still yet to get a reply. Ironically I can't stop them contacting me to try to sell me life insurance or home buyers insurance. I wont use them when we come to the end of our fixed term.
I will let you know if we get anymore news. I am hoping for something today! My nerves are shredded. Please keep us updated with how you are getting on also.0 -
@jeden
Do you not have an adviser? We are going through our adviser, he seems to be on the ball. We got reffered on the DIP so he called them straight away to deal with the issue (partners old CCJ) and they then passed the DIP. My partner is currently taking his bank statements to our adviser to send over then hopefully they'll get back on with it.
After reading these threads I'm pretty sceptical that we'll get an offer for a few weeks yet. It seems the main high street lenders timescales are within a couple of weeks but the lenders such as Aldermore seem to drag their heels . My partner goes to work away for 8 weeks in July so I'm hoping for a completion before then. That's if we even get accepted for the mortgage.
Did you notice when you have the hard credit search from them?
Yes fingers crossed you'll hear something soon! I'm a bag of nerves expecting a knock back from them. My partner has jokingly asked what I'll be doing once we've got the house as at the minute all I'm doing is researching and talking house stuff to him!
Yes keep us all updated and I'll do the same!1 -
@Chanlf91 -
Yeah we do have an adviser, however they are a big company so once our mortgage goes to the application stage we get handed over to another team.
I've had an email from them just now finally (after me getting a bit arsey) and they have said they've only requested the p60's and payslips, which was Friday last week and apparently nothing else since, which seems weird.
We had the hard credit search the day after the application went in so a week last Tuesday and the underwriter actually called me directly from Aldermore last Thursday to ask about direct debit dates. She said she would call me today to let me know how things were going as we need to pay for upgrades tomorrow (new build), so we will see if i hear anything.
I really do struggle to see what a broker brings to the table if i'm honest as I feel like i've done all the chasing and all of the emailing and all of the information i've had has been from Aldermore directly or the builders.0 -
Joining the wait
Full application went in Friday 20th
Asked for a bit more info proof of last 36 month mortgage payments and balance of current mortgage to be paid when house sells
Asked for proof of separation with me and my husband .. not sure how we do that
Now we wait for the decision!0 -
We're waiting for valuation and our offer at the moment...
14/4 - Viewed house.
16/4 - Second viewing with a builder.
17 & 18/4 - Spoke to a few brokers, discounted several but one got my confidence.
19/4 - DIP approved with Halifax. First offer on house rejected (£20k under asking price which had been dropped a month ago by £20k from original asking price in place since November 2017). Seller come back offering to split the difference though which we accepted.
23/4 - Passed across payslips, bank statements, proof of ID, etc to broker and full mortgage application submitted to Halifax. Valuation fee taken. Instructed conveyancer, passed proof of ID, etc but have asked to hold searches until offer in place.
25/5 - (Tomorrow!) - Valuation taking place.
Nervously waiting now!
So the valuation took place today... And our offer was issued today! Can't believe how quick it's all been...!
The Halifax have been very speedy, and our broker has been amazing.
If there's anyone even thinking about a mortgage, I strongly recommend using a broker - and it's made what I thought would be a daunting process a lot less daunting and cumbersome!0 -
We were told Wednesday would be the day we would have our offer issued, but it turns out my D.O.B was entered incorrectly, so they declined the application, when my MA picked up on this to correct it with them, the case was already locked and no one could access it. They now have their IT team looking into it to reopen to accept and issue the offer0

@jeden
It doesn't sound like you're having the best experience with your Broker! Tbh I can't fault ours at all. He seems more on the ball now we have put our application in. We dropped off bank statements yesterday so we'll see if anything comes back today.
We have told broker and solicitor that we'll go ahead with all the legal work once we've heard from aldermore. Broker said we should hear something by next week.
How is your journey going? Have you heard anything more from aldermore?0 -
@Chanlf91 - So after getting extremely frustrated with our brokers lack of pro activeness we spoke directly to Aldermore who said they are still waiting for the direct debit mandate, signed application declaration, and my wifes pay slips and p60's, which they requsted on the 19th.
Needless to say I was furious yesterday and called our brokers to ask them what the hell was going on. They said they'd definitely sent them and they would check . Half an hour later I get a call from our broker saying that they have got them they just couldn't open them as the PDF was too big. Which from working in IT sounds like a bit of bull to cover themselves, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt for now.
It's just infuriating that it took me to call them to find this issue out when they've been waiting for a whole week to look at documents.
The valuation is taking place today and hopefully I will know more by Monday, however I've got a feeling this may drag on for another week or two.0 -
@Jeden
Oh no sounds like a nightmare. I'd be frustrated too! I hate the delays! We've just been asked for further documents! I can't understand why they can't ask for them in 1 go. They've had bank statements a week, on Tuesday they requested originals and now they're asking for a statement from something which is on OH bank statement (he's paying £10 a month to a £170 debt?!) I was mad at OH as he should have just paid it straight off! I'm such a pessimist though so I keep thinking that everything they're asking for is to knock us back. I don't even think they're close to booking valuation yet!
Fingers crossed that after valuation, they'll get everything sorted for you and you'll have an offer soon!0 -
Not much news today for us (as expected) from Santander, except advisor asking for details about the gift deposit from a parent (name, amount and so on) but no requests for further documentation yet aside from this.
Still nervous for the "hard" check considering my 3-month blip in an otherwise flawless credit record, but the advisor keeps telling me that I've passed the DIP with Santander which is 90% of the battle as they credit score then too. Is this true? I always figured (and I think i also read) it was a soft search.0
