Anyone want to join me? Awaiting Mortgage decision...

Hi,
I thought I would share my experience as after reading a lot about Accord I thought we would have problems but it turned out to be fine.
Wen't through a whole of market broker which I would 100% recommend!
First placed through Halifax who wanted 10% due to my hubby's 3 year old default. Applied with Accord the next day. The AIP was agreed to the following day. We then supplied loads of paperwork. Valuation instructed and paid for by Accord the following week. We had the mortgage offer through 2 days ago.
The whole process took 3 weeks in total so not too bad and no messing around !:j0 -
So We had our valuation done today, paid a bit extra for the house buyers report. Things seem to be moving at pace, is that normal?
Had a bit of a surprise today though as the mortgage lender asked for my student loan to be paid off and proof sent.
We got our Mortgage offer yesterday! Got it by text which was a bit crap, and broker had left for easter so I had to call the mortgage company directly and they told me all the details. Got everything we wanted including no conditions on paying back credit card. I'm sure I didn't even have to pay my student loan back which just cost me £1500
Our application went in last Monday so happy it's all done now. Good luck everyone waiting0 -
We have our valuation day today!
It was certainly not easy to get to, or stay, asleep last night.
I have my fingers crossed that it all happens this morning and we get everything via email this afternoon or early evening.
At least the added benefit for me is I don't have to worry about work for 2 weeks after today as its the last day of school!
But still if it doesn't come through today then we'll be waiting until at least Tuesday.:mad::mad::mad::mad:
Well we got our report back today, which certainly wasn’t expected and have forwarded it to the solicitors. The house came back at value with only a few real issues that could be sorted out down the line.
Hopefully things can now steam ahead to us getting our mortgage offer next week. Fingers crossed.
On the bright side we found out the vendors are leaving us a fridge/freezer. A separate freezer and a nearly new washing machine. So that’s something.
We tried to make ourselves feel abit better by going out and buying an oven but ended up with a toaster instead0 -

On Good Friday? Done well there! Did you go for the standard valuation or the homebuyers?
Bit of a difference in an oven and a toaster? :rotfl:0 -
Good Afternoon Everyone, Hope everyone is having a good Easter Sunday
Just been reading this thread and its super insightful!
Im buying a new build and awaiting the valuation results..the bank holidays has slowed down the process a little bit.
21th March- Full application submitted and offer accepted by Halifax subject to valuation
28th March - Valuation Carried Out
it is Colleys that carried out the valuation, and im sure its the basic valuation as its a new build.
Any idea when I will hear back about the valuation results/ full offer? :eek:0 -

Hi all! First time buyer here.
Using Virgin money and absolutely bricking it!
Timeline:
16/03 - DIP given at £15k less than top figure available to us. Offer accepted on property.
23/03 - Full application in via broker
26/03 - Broker requested p60s and card details for valuation. Emailed them over, broker confirmed received.
26/03 - Agent called to say the valuation was booked for the 3rd (today).
...
...
...
Then - silence!
Anyone else with Virgin?0 -
So phoned the MA today as assumed we'd be free and clear having had the valuation as the last step but no apparently because I only provided the first page of my credit card statement which shows my address thats not good enough and they need the second page as well, despite the second page jsut being terms and conditions.
This is now getting beyond a joke. Once this mortgage is in place I will never use TSB again and I'll make sure we remortgage with someone else.
MA moaning it takes 2 hours to get through to them, well sorry mate but thats your job and your the one that suggest TSB in the first place.
Avoid TSB. I'd rather have paid more and got the mortgage quicker! We are suppose to complete Monday so that wont be happening!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:0 -
Didn’t want to post till it was done
Halifax app submitted direct - 26 March
Valuation - 28 March
Full offer - 04 April
Been a very uneventful process, think it would have been quicker if it wasn’t for Easter! All we needed to provide was 1 payslip each and wife’s latest statement for child benefit.0 -
Applied for a mortgage last week with HSBC so hopefully hear something soon. Our timeline is as follows:-
20th March - Offer accepted
22nd March - AIP via L & C
23rd March - Full Application submitted with L & C
Anybody got experience of HSBC in terms of how long before should hear back regarding extra documents, as guess they will ask for bank statments next?
Had to send off some bank statements/proof of id and gift letter, then when looking at the L & C it went to application processing on the 29th March.
Has anybody else had any problems when applying for a mortgage regarding Tesco wage slips? My partner works there and the way they list her pay, for instance it lists her basic pay as the days she worked but if she takes any days holiday, it lists it as holiday pay rather than in her basic pay which makes her basic pay look less. Still waiting for a decision but just wondered if anybody else experienced any problems?0
