8/1/18 - AIP
13/2/18 - put in mortgage application through broker with Nationwide FTB.
16/2/18 - valuation done
19/2/18 - credit search shown on file for DIP (not sure what the first one was in Jan as no record on credit file of this!)
20/2/18 - asked for more information, uploaded immediately.
21/2/18 - valuation received and approved
26/2/18 - offer!
So one day under 2 weeks (inc weekends) from application to offer!
Woooooo so happy!
We used a Countrywide mortgage broker through the EA who most posts on the internet say to avoid like the plague, but she's been absolutely fantastic.0 -
Thought I'd share my timeline in case it helps people.
14 Feb- application submitted to Halifax for 5 year fixed rate. Only last month payslips needed from DIP
15 Feb - broker calls to say he miscalculated and can't add fee to mortgage if takes it over 95% so agree bigger deposit.
15 Feb - Halifax ask for proof of deposit statements for last 90 days and sent to broker
20 Feb - chase broker and told building society passbook was too small writing so resent
21 Feb - valuation booked
22 Feb - valuation takes place
26 Feb- chase broker and told need last month's bank statement showing hubby's pay going in and sent through. Mortgage offer an hour later.
Yippee. We bank with Halifax and Bank of Scotland so that probably helped speed up the process.0 -

Broker says a hard copy should be received in a few days time. All in all it!!!8217;s taken over a month and a bit. Pretty slow. Especially as the darn random audit was done. But apparently it!!!8217;s normal they do it in 10% of cases and just holds up your application.
Relieved to say the least. Now I can focus on my efforts with the solicitors. Searches are being carried out.
Just want to say thanks to anyone else who is still waiting on a mortgage offer. I know there are a few who will find out any day now. Your advice and support is amazing. Have my fingers x for you all.
Hopefully we can all take over the awaiting to exchange thread in the house buying forum. Good luck guys and girls xxx0 -

I am pooing my pants...passed the credit scoring now just waiting for the underwriter to do his job! Don't want to face the embarrassment of telling the estate agent I cannot obtain a mortgage!
NatWest have already booked the survey....just worried the few blips on my credit history from when i was young and dumb will come back to haunt me!0 -

Ok so valuation was done on 16 feb.
NW txt on Fri 23 feb to say they received it - a week later (then was the weekend) and took 2 working days to evaluate and offer.
Don’t worry about those timelines. They really are nonsecal. Mine must be a record at over 33 days.
Your broker said close of today right? Usually means tomorrow you will find out. X0 -

Dont worry ! Why don’t you post up a full timeline to help others in the same position as yourself. X0 -
