Anyone want to join me? Awaiting Mortgage decision...

I am worried that my employment situation is going to have an impact, does anything have any experience with CB?
CB will not speak to me directly and my broker is very slow at getting back to me. is it possible to find out who my case manager is at the Bank?
I wouldn’t call CB unless your asking for an update. In doing so you could open up a minefield. Only send documents that they require. No news is usually good news. Work with your broker, and keep messaging them for updates is my advice.0 -
And yet another update... things seem to be moving a lot quicker now.
While I was out today my husband got a phone call from a surveyor on behalf of the mortgage company, requesting access to the property to survey it. My husband said he couldn't give access as we're the buyers, to which the surveyor replied that he'd phoned us in error - meant to phone the seller. So hopefully that means the valuation has now been booked. Updated timeline below......
10/17 Saw house we like, put offer in, accepted.
10/17 Spoke to mortgage advisor and told to wait 6 months until DH has been in current employment 6 months (started in 07/17)
10/17 Everyone in chain agreed to wait
11/17 Pay off credit cards in preparation of mortgage application
05/01/18 Apply for DIP
08/01/18 Mortgage advisor goes on paternity leave so everything on hold again
22/01/18 DIP approved
26/01/18 Full application put in
29/01/18 Mortgage co asks or more info
14/02/18 Mortgage agreed subject to valuation
15/03/18 Valuation booked?0 -
Have you heard anything today? can i ask how long it took from submitting your application to valuation?
Thank you
I haven’t heard anything yet. My mortgage advisor is chasing daily. Apparently Nationwide took a high volume of applications in January and this has caused a back log. I applied on the
25th January and valuation was done on the 2nd February.Home owner at 23 without the bank of Mum and Dad. :T0 -

Valuation now booked for 22/02!
I'm in a bit of a panic about it, I've done a silly thing and spent time reading the multiple horror stories about valuations coming in lower than the offer price. The house we're going for has been priced higher than most others on the street, but it has a conservatory, new kitchen, greenhouse etc. I'm still a bit worried the valuer will see the prices other houses have sold and let that influence their decision. Does anyone have any experience of this?0 -
Hi kajstring. It!!!8217;s easy enough to be nervous. My house has just had its valuation done. Awaiting results.
However, I do know the last person who this house was being sold to, the valuation came in under from the bank which meant their sale didn!!!8217;t progress. I have a slightly larger deposit so hoping the same won!!!8217;t happen.
Above all I wouldn!!!8217;t worry too much, fingers x0 -
