7/11- Gave Ma my bank statements passport and wage slips inc 1 from b4 i started maternity leave
    Full application submitted.
    9/11- Valuation done
    Still not heard back.
Its a consessionary purchase i think its called, buying parents house , theres 45000 left on their mortgage so hoping its valued at approx 70000 ish so we have decent equity to use as deposit.
Im in Scotland , ftb and scared my unplanned overdraft fees showing on my bank statements are going to spoil it for me. Wasnt planning in applying for a mortgage hence why my account wasnt spotless. Been on mat leave since jan but going back in january 2018. So yea im on unpaid leave at the moment. Got so much going against me its unreal. Hoping to hear from MA by tuesday, he said lender may want written confirmation from my work about my return date etc.
    Goodluck to everyone waiting:p
  • Im sure ive saw folk say gambling payments went against them but no experience myself sorry
  • recently completed on a purchase, our timelines were super quick at the start
a> Property viewing to survey instructed - 8 days
    b> All searches completed - 4 weeks
c> Mortgage offer - 6 weeks - woolwich/barclays were painful with their mortgage admin process
    d> Exchange - 10 weeks
    e> Completion - 16 weeks
  • Oh that is fast Firstimebuyers! Goodluck!

Is the process different up here in Scotland ? The valuation up here was booked as soon as my full application went in and i havnt been told about a fee for that? I havnt been charged at all yet all yous seem to have 2 pay for it!?

    8/11 Offer Accepted for £135k

    10/11 Application in
10/11 Valuation Fee taken from Natwest

13/11 Natwest have lowered the maximum loan they'll give us by £20k - Overtime wasn't on application as didn't think was needed, gone back to them with 6 months payslips to show proof of regular Overtime - not feeling quite as confident now
  • This is the first time we've bought and sold a house so this thread has been really helpful -
    thank you all!

    Here is my timeline...

12/10 view house - decide we want it
    13/10 our house valued
    14/10 offer on house accepted
    18/10 our house on market
20/10 we accept offer on our house
    25/10 meeting with mortgage adviser
26/10 Decision in principle from Halifax
30/10 all forms completed and delivered to solicitor
    3/11 mortgage forms completed
10/11 valuation of house we want to buy
13/11 mortgage offer received in post

So, I rang my conveyancer, The sale of our house is going well (purchaser has been for a second viewing and brought his family with him so I know he's keen). However, the people we're buying from haven't sent all their paperwork off yet. Slight nerves now...
