Anyone want to join me? Awaiting Mortgage decision...

Going to join in with everyone else, we are quite frankly.... worrying but I think that is normal as first time buyers! We are buying the house we have lived in for 3 years from my wifes Mum & Dad, we weren't in a position to buy a house when we moved here but we have basically lived here and paid rent and are now in a position to buy from them which is really exciting!
1. AIP submitted on 03/11 with Halifax (saying we could borrow plenty more than we want/need).
2. Waited until 08/11 for them to contact with an appointment to see mortgage adviser in branch but the system doesn't work which I found out when I rang them, booked appointment for 11/11.
3. Full application gone in on the 11/11, credit checks done and semingly passed as they only needed 1 payslip each for proof (we had shown and calculated another AIP with adviser with the 3 we had taken and it turns out we could have lent a lot more than I had calculated due to how they add in overtime/bonuses? Also payment taken for valuation.
4. Valuation done 20/11 and the valuer said the house is well worth the sale price, said he would upload his report to Halifax by close of the day.
Waiting game...
So nervous but we are literally praying everything goes well, hope everyone elses cases go well also! Fingers crossed for everyone0 -
Quick Question guys...
In fact I have 2...
First One...
Is a Valuation and Home buyers report the same thing??
Second One...
Have paid £400 for valuation as per broker but he's suggesting that a home buyers report may be more as we're using an independant service...is this correct??0 -
I'm currently in progress with Natwest:
8/11/17 AIP
13/11/17 Full application submitted
14/11/17 Valuation fee, admin fee, and product applicationfee taken
I wondered whether my expwrience is the same as others who have applied with Natwest, that the product fee was taken at the same time as the valuation fees? I wasn't expecting it, my broker just said to expect the valuation and admin money to be taken. Its not a problem, just a surprise, and I'm wondering whether it means the mortgage is accepted?0 -
Hi, we have put in the full mortgage application yesterday via broker to NatWest. I was expecting the valuation fee to be taken straight away but it hasn’t. When is this normally taken? Didn’t sleep last night with worrying about it all
Thanks.
Think I’m going to have a read of this thread with a brew0 -

Our mortgage didn't have a product fee, so just the valuation, homebuyers survey fee and admin fee was taken on the same day as application.
We'd read on here that it was a good sign, but it seems they do their underwriting alongside the valuation being booked to speed up the application - so we had our valuation and survey done yesterday morning, and yesterday afternoon they came back with their first lot of questions on our application, so it's not a done deal yet.
They do seem to be processing applications quickly at the moment though judging by what people on here are saying.0 -
