We've been waiting for a mortgage offer for about a month or more. Unfortunately nobody will provide you underwriters contact. We have applied for DIP on 27th of March. We are completing today or tomorrow. So this is approximately how long the whole process takes. (and this is an easy case, as we have a new built)

  • this is the timescale we applied mortgage with Santander, i am self employed

    28th May:full application
    1st June: case with underwriters
7th June: case chosen for audit
    15 June:offer received via Emal.

considering the case was held for audit for one week, i am very happy for the timescale. the valuation was a drive by, as it is a almost new building.

First mortgage applied for on 25/05/16
    Survey done 16/06/16

Came back down valued by £25,000 which nobody thinks is correct as its a five year old development, immaculate condition in a well sought after area in London.

I was advised to apply for a different mortgage to see what a different surveyor thinks!

Application submitted today here we go again....

Well we are on a slow moving process due to royal mail loosing our paperwork grrr

    offer accepted 28/5/15
    application done 6/6/15
we then received our paperwork to fill in and send back on 10/6/16 we sent our paperwork back the following day and royal mail seemed to missplace it any way Underwriters now have our paperwork so are looking through our finances hopefully this will be ok and not take long and they will instruct a valuation and the full building survey we have asked for as an extra.

Really dont want to loose this house so fingers crossed it all goes through :)

We were due to remortgage and I eventually decided to go with Nationwide as I wasn't happy with the options offered by our broker (and picking the products with the highest commission). We also bank with Nationwide for our joint account and savings so thought it would be good with cashback. We were looking for a 5 year fix.

Thursday 16th June - applied online in the evening and accepted. Apparently no physical valuation required based on the information provided, so house was valued at my desired figure and we achieved 58%. Is that normal?!

Friday 17th June - submitted requested evidence via email, 3 months payslips for each of us. Online tracking page updated. Allocated solicitor.

Friday 17th June - Completed solicitor remortgaging pack online and printed out/signed

Saturday 18th June - posted completed conveyancing pack via recorded post

Going quickly so far and very happy with service. I took the 'no advice' option as I was happy with our credit history and therefore applied online. Being kept up to date with texts and emails throughout :)

Update on mine! Had a call at work this morning from Legal and General to confirm the property address, Hoping that means they will be doing valuation soon!

Anybody had any good/bad experiences with them?

Monday 20th June - Nationwide processed payslips that I'd emailed and I then received text and email to confirm a mortgage offer has been made and is on the way in the post. Insanely quick.

Tuesday 21st June - Solicitors received my paperwork and have already processed it

4pm Friday 17th June - property valued by Tarun from Purple Bricks advert goes live at 11.30pm

10am Saturday 18th June - realise that I have 14 people requesting to see property - have a knock on the door at 11am from one of those 14 people who had booked to view the following day so invite her in and she offers full asking price

Monday 20th June - View a new property and have an offer accepted

Tuesday 21st June - Have an appointment with mortgage broker who submits mortgage application with Santander - I only have to show 3 months payslips - passport and P60

Thursday 23rd June - Receive a call from solicitor to say that valuation on my new property will be carried out at 10am tomorrow

4pm Friday 24th June - Receive a text message from Santander saying congratulations we have issued your mortgage offer

I cant believe all this has happened in the space of 1 week - just hope no problems with the valuation of mine
