AQAddict , you are quite risky instructing solicitors before getting an offer. We are still waiting, as don't wanna loose £200 for the fees.***Twins mummy***0

See I've heard mixed things about this. Some books and guides say solicitors first, others mortgage. The Nationwide application online included a box for solicitor's details, so I don't know how that would work without them?
Vendor is keen to sell (it's her buy to let and tenants have given notice, she doesn't want to rent it out again) and one of the reasons she accepted my offer on an in-demand property was me instructing solicitors right away. That said, I emailed my solicitor yesterday, and she said she hasn't heard a peep from the vendor's conveyancer, so she's not shelled out on any fees yet on my behalf. Can't be in that much of a hurry then!0 -
Oh I see....we are buying new build so it can be completely different story here...***Twins mummy***0

So I've heard, new build can seem to be a bit of a saga! I'm having faith that this will be straightforward, but as it's the first time doing this I'm probably being a bit optimistic, hehe. Fingers crossed all goes well for you x0 -

The house is in probate and the family are happy to move quickly so it's just a waiting game now0 -
