Hi guys,
Just in the same boat now... had valuation done of the 25th but haven't had the offer back yet.
So stressed out now... hate waiting. How long does it typically take?
I just don't understand why they take so long for an answer I presumed they accepted it before valuation and would get it soon after the valuation!
With halifax btw.
Thanks0 -
who are you with? my survey was done quickly. is it a full survey?0

We are in exactly the same position with Halifax, valuation 25th and not had an offer. Spoke to broker yesterday who said they are offering us less than initial quote, he is trying to find out why, credit report is perfect and no credit commitments. It's so frustrating. Why do a valuation if they aren't happy?!0 -

Ours was a refer... Nationwide. Broker called yesterday and they wanted another of my husband's payslips as one month, it was £12 less! We scanned that in and broker uploaded so now more waiting. They haven't instructed survey yet but broker said he asked them not to do survey until approved...
Please don't worry....ours was also a "refer". As long as the figures on your application match bank statements/ payslips it will be fine. Nevertheless Nationwide was a bit of a pain, they asked for bank statements/ more payslips/ another statement/ explanation on holiday pay with payslips/ deduction for breavement leave ....everything....Eventually booked in valuation and still another month to offer (more queries on payslips)....I went direct, so yours should be quicker. My application was submitted on 1st August and offer only issued on 29th September.0 -
Hi everyone! I'm pretty new too after lurking for a while...
Our story is..
18 Sept - offer on a house, accepted the same evening.
18 Sept - did DIP online with nationwide REFERED
21 Sept - some documents sent over
24 Sept - all other documents sent
*waited and watched online tracker for days for documents to be ticked off and approved*
1st Oct - All wage slips, bank statements, proof of deposit, proof of address and ID were all approved on online tracker.
1st Oct - Applied for full application whilst waiting for DIP.
Now we are just waiting and waiting as all documents have been approved online...
To be honest, we don't even know what this means? Does the mean the payslip and bank statement have been approved because they match etc or just because they have acknowledged receipt of them?
Has anyone watched and waited with the online tracker before? Now that we have applied in full it won't let us do the online tracker!!! Ahhhhh going mad!!0 -

It's a nightmare isn't it. You should receive a phone call or email from a nationwide "contact". This person will be able to help you and answer all you questions. When all the documentation is received, they are reviewed. If nationwide are happy, they book a valuation and you will receive a text message when this is done. Then all the documents are sent to the underwriters for approval. If any queries are raised, you will be contacted asking for further information or explanations.
Hope this helps0 -
Ah thanks. That really does help! Hopefully that will be this week some time fingers crossed then!
I've read loads of things about nationwide being the slowest to be fair...0 -
Well it's all gone belly up for me. My house (which I was planning to re-mortgage to buy to let and rent out) had valued short by 10,000. I have tried my current provider, Woolwich and been declined, based on affordability, apparently I can't afford the repayments if its not rented, I've never been turned down for anything and now I'm going to lose the house I've set my heart on. After a lot of tears I'm trying to be philosophical (although it's hard). I am really dreading phoning the estate agent on Monday to tell them the sale is off, I feel I have been dishonest making an offer before finalising my buy to let, I also have to tell the lady who is desperate to rent mine. I'm absolutely gutted.Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is yellow tonight,
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is mellow and bright,
There’s a coyote crying at the moon above,
Carry me back to the one I love,
And you old faithful pal of mine.0 -

Yep....SLOW!! Our application submitted on 1st August, valuation was booked in at the end of August and only received offer on 29th September (they queried and checked everything...very stressful....I think that as long as it's not an instant decline, all the figures add up and it's affordable, then the offer is eventually made.0 -
Ah sparkle thanks for filling me with optimism!
Bet you can't wait for everything to be done now!
It would be lovely to be in my own home for Christmas!0
