I'm going to join in:
House on the market for about 5 weeks, not one viewer. Thinking on and off about renting mine and moving on. Wasn't sure how it would work and if it was possible. Then;
7th Sep: Neighbour asks if I ever thought about renting it out he knows someone interested. That night ring a mortgage broker, and it is. I can get an interest only mortgage btl at 75% and release some equity as deposit towards new place.
8th Sep: Get an AIP, do a fact find with broker.
14th Sep: Offer accepted on a new place.
16th Sep: Complete two applications and send of all my ID, bank statements, pay slips and even proof of savings (not loads but enought o cover costs). Now start to panic.
28 Sep: Survey on both, but only really worried about my current home as I need top value for the 25% for btl and 10% for new place.
Today: Phoned the building society, didn't really think they would have heard anything. Anyway only asked about the btl, they have received the survey report, "everything is progressing well and the file has been sent to the underwriters, should hear about a decision in 4-5 days". And today I got forms from their solicitors about the btl remortgage. My solicitor is dealing with the new place.
Now, would they bother going that far if there were any problems with either me or the survey? surely they would have flagged it up before letting it go that far (what does the underwriter actually do that hasn't already been done?). It seems to be progressing quickly, or is this a normal speed? If it is fast is that a good sign? There shouldn't be any problems with my finances, I'm in regular employment, in the NHS, only debt is a car loan and no missed credit card payments or anything, my only real concern was the survey.Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is yellow tonight,
Giddy up old fella cos the moon is mellow and bright,
There’s a coyote crying at the moon above,
Carry me back to the one I love,
And you old faithful pal of mine.0 -
Hi .....I have been reading posts and thought would join the worry and waiting group here is our story
We are FTB and found a new build would like to purchase passed DIP with natwest through a mortgage broker full application went in on 22nd sept and natwest requested my husband 3 more payslips on Friday which were submitted Monday .....yesterday we noticed the valuation fee is pending.....we contacted the mortgage broker who advised its with the underwriters and decsion can take 2/3 days ...so now we are just waiting nervously like everyone else on this forum....if it's pending does that mean good news or is it just in case we get the go ahead they preparing to take it?......good luck all that's waiting.0 -

Glad to hear good news for others in a similar situation. I have been informed that a valuation will be carried out by the end of the week. I am worried though as our broker is going to be on holiday for the next fortnight and I am hoping that will not cause any problems.0

You can still phone the building society yourself and enquire, I have done that just now. They were able to tell me an offer was in the post, the broker hasn't told me yet.Old Faithful we roam the range together,
