Ours is the same valuation day. My time scale is just a little bit less on this threat a couple of pages back. We're with nationwide.

Been a long time reader of this thread so here is our little update.

    Saw House - 13th June
    2nd viewing - 20th June
Spoke to Mortgage broker - 22nd June
Various offers and negotiating - 22nd June - 2nd July
    Offer accepted - 2nd July
AIP done 10th July (Bit of hold up as our 2nd Child was born on 1st July )
Met with broker 13th July went through application
Since then various different things requested and trying to get bank statements from Barclays has been nothing short of painful
    Valuation done 10th August
    Mortgage offer text through today.

Have to say our Mortgage broker has been amazing not a straight forward case, I had a few PDL's about 5 years ago , all paid on time, small bit of credit card debt again all paid on time and my Mrs is currently on Mat Leave. What with having our 2nd child and already having a toddler, the few hundred pounds we have paid him to sort this has been worth every penny and more.

    This is with Nationwide.

    Good luck all!

I hope my nationwide fiasco has as good an outcome as yours!! Glad it's all gone smoothly for you
  • Haha yes I wish I could fast forward a day or two just to get to the decision :)
Esp after having the valuation delayed another week just because the est agt couldn't be bothered to make sure the surveyor had access to the property(!)

Seems they are slow with everything. Our valuation is booked for Friday but my husband is "work friends" with the seller and he's had no contact yet

Check with the agent or who ever actually listed the property you're buying - I think whoever is the one giving access for the surveyor to the property should know about the valuation

Oh thanks worth a try. I'll give them a ring now. Our broker was great at getting things together etc but haven't Hurd much from him lately. This worry me.

Yeah my broker has been very good too, a bit quiet since the valuation was booked - I guess they need to wait for valuation to be done before they can do anything else (we've already sent all docs, IDs etc)

Make sure you chase the est agt or whoever will allow the surveyor into the property for the valuation, make sure they know exact date and time to be there to let surveyor in

Sounds really obvious like you're telling them how to do their job, but that's what happened with me - est agt didn't have key to let surveyor in, delayed valuation from 17th to 21st Aug. Otherwise valuation would have happened on 17th like it was supposed to :P

I've just txt my broker who txt back really quickly saying its a waiting game until valuation and he thinks because they have checked everything and got the couple of documents they needed that we will have a decision pretty quick. Just rang the selling agent to find out about val there was no one to speak and they will ring me back. Grrrr hope everyone is having some success
