I didn't think they worked weekends? I'm hoping for a quick turnaround (all being well of course!) people on here seem to have it pretty soon after. Maybe I'm being too optimistic though.

It's great to have someone at the same stage as us! Are you buying new build as well?

I'm not getting the hopes up for Saturday. In fact starting to get cold feet about it all. If they are going to say no I wish they had done it 20days ago lol.

Part of me thinks they wouldn't book a survey if they were unsure though. Should be relatively safe and as long as the value is right there shouldn't be any issues.

  • Hi all,

FTB, waiting for our valuation and full mortgage application to go through:

15.07 - offer made (1 bed flat, built about 9 years ago)
    17.07 - offer accepted
17.07 - AIP application made, approved same day (Coventry, via a broker)
21.07 - about to make full application with Coventry, but broker highlights that they need 6 months continuous employment history (might be an issue with partner). Not impressed as broker knew all our details before doing AIP!
23.07 - decide to go with a different broker and new lender that only needs 1 month work history (Nationwide). AIP made and approved same day.
29.07 - full mortgage application made to Nationwide
31.07 - valuation booked for Aug 17th (a longer wait than expected, perhaps due to the computer crash that apparently happened at Nationwide???)
17.08 - valuation day......and the estate agent fluffs it up! Apparently the tenant had moved out, key wasn't handed over to agent in time so the surveyor couldn't get into the flat :( Not happy with the est agt, least of all after waiting so long for the valuation! :|
    21.08 - valuation rescheduled....

I'm just hoping for the valuation to go smooth and for the full mortgage application to go through fairly soon after.

Anyone else have any recent experience with Nationwide?
