    Thought I'd add an update:

02/04 Second phone call with bank to get recommendation (which was what I wanted from my research so happy with that). Then start to receive paper work etc.
09/04 Sign up to be able to view the application online
11/04 Take in ID to a branch to update our photo ID on the system
16/04 Take in 3 months payslips into branch as requested
20/04 Get a phone call saying my OH needs to verify himself so they can look at his details. He tries to do this but has forgotten his phone banking details so has to go into branch to get them reset
24/04 OH manages to get phone banking unlocked and verifies himself. Then get asked to confirm solicitor details and what survey we want.
    25/04 Pay for survey
28/04 OH gets a letter asking for 3 months payslips and a letter confirming he is permanent. (He gets paid on the 29th.....but we're still waiting for the latest payslip! They apparently went to the wrong department :mad:)
29/04 Get confirmation from EA saying survey has been booked for the 06/05

After he had confirmed he was who I said he was it felt like a lot happened very quickly, it feels like it has slowed right down again now!

Thought I'd update to distract from the wait!

05/04 As said my OH managed to get his payslip
06/04 Sent of payslip (as missed the last post the day before). Survey also took place.
09/04 OH rang to check the received his payslips (as said before, they said we should get a decision by tomorrow).
13/04 I receive a letter saying they need my latest payslip. Wasn't happy as they could've requested it before, and I assume this will delay us again! Luckily was able to get a PDF off my HR within the hour (we have online payslips) and send it off that day.
16/04 Received the survey/valuation back. Valued at what we have offered. No issues, just an assumption that the double glazing has the correct permission.

    Back to waiting again!!

Halifax received our application from broker yesterday 18/05, but the valuation is booked in for 04/06. That's over 2 weeks away!

Will Halifax start looking at the application in the meantime anyway, or will they wait for valuation and then take a further 2 weeks or so to give me an offer?!

    Hi Everyone!

Hope you all get good news today.

I've been approved on my mortgage application prior to surveys being done.

Does anyone know if I will be credit checked again or if I've passed that stage?.

We have had to send Halifax payslips and bank statements etc but they should all be fine.

    Thanks

Whenever a milestone is reached, or an amendment made, the Halifax re-scores every application.

For example, when the valuation is completed and returned.

Do not apply for credit or anything else which involved a credit search during this process, right up to completion.

Just had a text from Nationwide to say they've issued a formal offer.

I have asked our broker to confirm as 4 working days to offer seems very short judging by MSE standards...

It'll probably take longer for the paper offer to arrive in second class post than it did to get from application to offer.

Plenty of our cases are as quick as this. It's the direct channel they seem to have issue with at the moment.

    Thanks Kingstreet,

Just worried that my credit score reduced significantly when they to their hard credit search on my mortgage application.
Hopefully this will not bring up a fail.

If so how many credit checks do they do throughout the process.

    Thanks
