Well me and my fianc!e put in our application today. I'm not very confident but pur broker is very highly rated and seems confident. Should hear something back as early as next week.0

Despite the "action by end of business today" email, nothing materialised. Another weekend spent wondering...0

New build purchase here. House isn't finished til November, so broker has timed application to now, to hopefully have offer by the end of May. Judging by the comments on this thread, that may well be slightly optimistic...
Jan - Reserved plot and qualified for mortgage through broker
12/05/15 - AIP through Nationwide
13/05/15 - Met broker and passed over all documents (3 months bank statements, child benefit letter, 1 month payslips)
14/05/15 - Full application received by Nationwide
15/05/15 - Text from Nationwide confirming valuation booked for Monday 18th May0 -
I'm pretty much on the same timeline as you Jon B.
01/05/15 offer accepted on our property
03/06/15 got AIP from TSB. Put deposit down on a Barratts new build.
12/05/15 met with broker from New Homes Group gave all docs
14/05/15 application submitted to TSB and broker assured me I'll hear next week from my dedicated processor
I hate waiting for things I'm so anxious all the time. I also don't feel very confident as we've promised TSB we'll pay all our credit cards off before completion, and we are asking for a very large mortgage. Broker feels confident apparently!0 -
So now I'm seriously panicking as Nationwide didn't get back to me by the end of yesterday as hoped to "action" my case as broker promised, what this means. Does "action" mean to send out an offer?
In fairness they asked for the few extra docs (tax overviews and another proof of address), having assessed all initial docs. So does this mean they were happy with initial docs, otherwise I would have heard something from them about there being an issue by now?
These requested docs were uploaded on Monday. My broker assured me that it's all going in the right direction but he isn't very good at the reassuring aspect of this which I need.
Only buying 30% shared ownership, applying for a mortgage of £87,600 and have. £60,000 deposit. Salary (salaried and Self employed) at £39,000. Debt to be cleared and very good credit. Valuation was fine.
Bank holiday didn't help I'm sure, or the requesting of these other docs.
Does this all sound on track to the wise people here? I'm so stressed out.
Got a DIP quickly but full mortgage app went in on April 28, nearly 2 weeks ago.0 -
Well my journey so far.
Viewed house and liked it.
11/05/15 redone aip with Santander last one ran out aip accepted
12/05/15 put offer in on house offer accepted
14/05/15 full mortgage application done
Im not feeling confident just who i am i suppose.0 -
Middle of Feb: Initial meeting with MA to discuss money, do KFIs, etc. Suggests we go with Santander
End of Feb: put in 3 offers on a house, all refused - back to the drawing board
14/03: Viewed a house, with potential. Owners father was there so we couldn't get a proper look around!
21/03: Second viewing, much better... Decide to put an offer in.
24/03: first offer refused - it was 10.5k, under but you have to try!
26/03: second offer put in - refused within 10 minutes!
27/03: final offer placed and refused. £1k under what she wanted, £6k under asking. EA is frustrated and takes the vendor 'window shopping' to get her on board
30/03: offer accepted! We visit our MA who has all our paperwork ready to submit our mortgage application with Natwest (was a better fit for us, I bank with them and have multiple incomes)
02/04: MOPS received
07/04: Contacted MA re: any news
15/04: Contacted Natwest, they require further info. Send updated Bank Statements to MA and request HRMC fax SA302 (since the first lot got lost in the post 8 weeks ago!)
16/04: MA lets me know she's passing further information onto Natwest today.
20/04: MA confirms Natwest have our stuff and will contact them on Thursday to see whats happening
23/04: MA calls, Natwest are happy with all our info (yay minor victory). However, they require my partner's previous address (he moved in with my just under 3 years ago) in written format from her)
25/04: Received Fixtures & Fittings list and Land Registry info from Solicitors, he also informs us that he has the vendors contract in hand.
28/04: Mortgage Approved subject to Valuation. Valuation fee paid.
06/05: Valuation booked takes place
08/05: Structural Survey Takes place
12/05: Mortgage approved, offer in the post!
13/05: Structural survey comes back, all good. A few minor details, maintenance that's not been done. Possible issue with the convervatory being built over an inspection chamber. Solicitor is asking buyers to purchase indemnity for us as they didn't declare it
13/05: Mortgage offer arrives in the post
15/05: all contracts signed, ready to exchange!
Solicitor wants to iron out the indemnity issue with the current owner, but hoping to exchange Monday/Tuesday with a view to complete 28/29th May as Natwest currently require 7 working days in between. Fingers crossed!0 -
So halifax have had our paperwork now and said we should have a decishion by the end of the week, i cant help feeling that for some reason something will go wrong :-(0

Just wondering why you waited 7 weeks before applying for your mortgage?
A couple of reasons - one was our vendor hadn't found a house first so didn't seem much point starting the ball rolling, and then my dh was waiting for proof of his upcoming pay rise. It was a lonnnnnng 7 weeks!2014 - the year we became debt-free :T
Best comp wins : £500 Star Wars Lego, £150 sk:n goodies
2015 - please be the year our baby wish comes true (a new house as well would be lovely)
