  • Timescale with Virgin Money (new build property)

    22/02/15-Reserved plot
    25/02/15-Met with Mortage broker
    26/02/15-DIP from Virgin
    05/03/15-Valuation on property
11/03/15-In a queue to be assessed by an underwriter
16/03/15-Offer confirmed with Virgin by mortgage broker:j

However it's now had to be sent back to the underwriter to be amended as he'd based the offer on a 2 year fixed when we'd applied for a 5 year fixed from the beginning:mad:

So just waiting for our proper offer to come in the post!!
  • Finally I can post on here!
    FMA on 27/02 from TMW
    Valuation on 09/03
Proof of deposit messing around/lots of scanning/phone calls and begging!
    Offer given 16/03 at last

Have you heard anything yet as my report went in same time and was hoping to hear back from them. Have not used a broker but went direct.

    Hoping our applications are approved!

Well we contacted our Broker on Friday as we hadn't heard anything and have now been told we should have a decision in approximately 4 days so I guess Thursday. We did ask why the change from hearing on Friday to waiting a further 4 days and he said timings change all the time so we just need to be patient (not one of my strong points).

If we do get a decision on Thursday that would be application to decision in 2 weeks and 2 days which is a lot shorter than I thought it was going to be!

Have you heard anything as yet?

In the boat! FTB with Partner

22/01/15 - Obtain a DiP from London and Country for £170k
21/02/15 - Saw House at £180k for the first time, absolutely love it.
22/02/15 - Partner and parents saw house. I fly to Norway for work. Partner put's in an offer of £175k in, rejected.
23/02/15 - From the middle of no-where, I put in a revised offer of £177k, rejected. Highly stressed out as doing this in another country!
24/02/15 - EA comes back with counter of £179k
25/02/15 - EA comes back with £178k which we accept.
26/02/15 - Speak to L+C, get started with the Mortgage Application. Advise to go for the West Brom.
04/03/15 - Text from West Brom, instructing valuation.
15/03/15 - Finally get all the paperwork together and sent off. (They wanted so much stuff, needed to prove an old address from 3 years ago!)
16/03/15 - Double whammy good news, get a text stating valuation is done and all is fine. Broker receives paperwork and we go to "Lender is processing your application"

So with the Lender having all the info and valuation, any ideas on how long The West Brom takes?

    Excited/Terrified!

Also, when do we go about discussing the fixtures and fittings?

Nationwide are being very slow with us
-full application submitted 26th Feb a
    -valuation done 3rd March
    -verbally have offer 11th March
-text from them yesterday to say valuation approved

Considering we only had the text about the valuation yesterday I'm now wondering whats going on, our broker seems so laid back compared to us but we have to be out of our current property by 10th April so starting to get stressed now! I thought the offer would have been in the post on the 11th but apparently not :( no idea when we are going to get it so frustrating.

    Update..........................

Had a call from our Mortgage Broker about an hour ago. Mortgage approved - can i get a whoop whoop!:T :j
Massive shout to our broker - made the whole experience much less painful than it would have been without one thats for sure. Would recommend using a broker any day of the week.
Good luck to all those still waiting and see you on the 'waiting to exchange' board soon :D
  • Still waiting from Nationwide, application sent on the 26th Feb. Broker requested further proof on student loan payments and then some other pay slips. It seems like they're only requesting these things though at the last minute. They ask for something and we provide, then we wait 48 hours, and then they want something else! Wish they could just tell us everything they want in one go! We're currently in hopefully our last 48 hour wait before we get a proper offer. Meant to be completing on the 30th :(

    Whoop Whoop!

I've also just found out that I've been made the offer too! :j

I don't know what I would have done without the broker, made everything so much easier.

We applied the same day as youand are still waiting too, queried student loans, then verbally had an offer of £600 less than the mortgage we wanted we said fine, now they are querying a few transactions on our bank statements :( gym membership and golf membership! Broker reckons they are asking at the final check, sounds like we are so close I could cry! We have to get out of our current property 11th April so its tight! Luckily a new build so once the offer is there everyone is saying it will be really quick but I am not holding my breath, thnk I best start searching for a local B&B ;P thing is the mortgage is £20 a month more than the rent and I had a £430 a month pay rise last month! We can more than afford it but I suppose they are being more responsible than they used to be which is good
