Natwest instruct the valuation last after all the underwriting
Yes, but you can ask for the valuation to be instructed immediately "at your risk" as they put it.

Nationwide Mortgage, They are giving me real headache, they re requested 4 times more information from my accountant. Its over 6 weeks now since i submitted the application, Valuation done, Mortgage application accepted in principle all ok and clear i wonder why they would like to dig it more and more... Anyone in the same situation? I regret i chose Nationwide for the mortgage.

    Timeline :

    30/08/14 Applied online:
14//09/14 All the requested documents submitted.
17/09/14 - Nationwide re requested some documents.
    20/09/14 Documents resubmitted.
    23/09/14 Valuation done.
31/09/14 Documents passed the checks and forwarded for final checks.
08/10/14 Nationwide requested more information from my accountant.

Jeezo don't say that, I just ditched Accord for taking forever and the broker went with Nationwide....

  • We are just going through the process of getting a mortgage on a new build using the help to buy equity loan

    Our timeline is as follows

25/9/14. Accepted an offer on our house
27/9/14. Enquired about new build, given broker details
27/9/14 DIP approved with Nationwide via broker
    28/9/14 Reserved new build
    07/10/14. Broker collected all docs
08/10/14. Docs uploaded to nationwide, help to buy applied for
13/10/14. Received help to buy approval in the post

I'm not sure when the broker has actually applied for the full mortgage, they chased it up on Friday & NW were looking at our docs that day.

Has your valuation fee been debited?

Have you had a text/email to say;-

    your product has been reserved
    application submitted
    valuation instructed
    valuation booked?

If you haven't, chances are the application has not yet been submitted. Did your broker get a "refer" on the DIP, or accept?

If the former, they will upload docs until a "subjective accept" is forthcoming, then the full application can be submitted.

If the latter, the above would have happened unless the broker has not supplied your contact details to Nationwide.

Laurie, what happened with your deposit issue?

    Just saw this.

The broker spoke directly to the underwriter, explained the situation and they agreed to drop the issue and make an offer.

They were as surprised as we were.

Looking to exchange this week or next!

Been lurking for a few days and thought I would join in!

    Hi all :)

FTB, found a flat I absolutely love and am now in the 'I have no control over anything and can't stand it' phase. It seems there is absolutely no pattern that guesses how quickly this process will be so I will just cross my fingers and hope for a smooth ride!

    04/10 - Viewed the property
06/10 - Placed offer, initially declined but half way point accepted.
08/10 - DIP accepted (initially referred due to 'gift' from grandparents) and Full application submitted the same day. Accepted.
09/10 - MA sends all documents to lender
10/10 - Solicitor arranged and paid up front search fee, surveyor booked in for next week.
13/10 - MA says lender is happy and waiting for valuation.

And thats the current outlook. I know my lender has an online mortgage tracking hub but I dont have the account number for my mortgage so can't look for myself. Don't want to pester the MA that much but I'm desperate to know if the valuation has been booked and if the lender is 'officially' happy or just ok in her eyes at the moment!

Good luck to everyone out there waiting for decisions.

I was genuinely excited this morning for it to be a week day so I could carry on chasing people!

    Everything is crossed!

No, no valuation fee has been taken yet and we haven't heard anything from Nationwide.
The dip was accepted straight away, I'm sure the broker mentioned she could upload the docs before we got the help to buy approval, that has only come through today so maybe she has to wait for that before she can put in the full app, I'm not sure.

I did email her today and she just said she would continue to chase them up and let us know when there is any news!
They only deal with new build so I'm hoping they know what they are doing
