  • Had an update from HSBC, the underwriters haven't even LOOKED at our application, submitted on the 3rd with supporting docs requested and sent on the 14th.
Apparently the queue for self employed is massive but MA has now escalated it apparently. I reckon it won't be this week then.

Yep, absolute ages with HSBC. Sent extra docs 14th of July. Valuation done and all was well but not heard anything since. We've been chasing every day 🤦🏻‍♀️
Have you instructed your solicitor etc? We're been hassled by the EA but don't want to fork out the solicitor fees without the mortgage offer.

We’re in the same position. EA hassling saying it’s unusual not to have done the survey, instructed solicitor etc. But that not far off £1000 upfront payment for something that may fall through. Worried our sellers will grow impatient.
  • @Process90 we have, paid the initial set fee so they can make searches. We are buying directly from seller so no EA stressing us out and they are relaxed so far but don't want to strain the relationship because of this. It also reassured her that we are serious about the purchase so she can start her side because if all goes smoothly our end, we don't then want to wait around for the seller to get everything in order either.
That's the only bit I forked out so far (300) so we took the hit.
  • My timeline so far:
    7/07/20 - Offer accepted
    8/07/20 - decision in principle
    08/07/20 - full application submitted
09/07/20 - valuation booked and completed same day ( home report provided Scotland)
11/07/20- 6 months bank statements and p60 requested (provided same day)
    19/07/20- hard search carried out
    still waiting hate waiting.......
  • Yay for Accord’s phones being down, our broker can’t get through to chase an update. Irony is that they put us with Accord for their reputation of processing things quickly!

We got our mortgage offer today from nationwide. Two weeks exactly from we got our DIP and submitted our full application. We are over the moon.

Anyone got a rough timescale on HSBC applications? I had my zoom appointment last Friday and was told then that we'd been accepted and the offer was pending a valuation. They told me the valuation would be done Monday or Tuesday of this week. Assuming everything comes back from the valuation as expected, how long am I looking at before getting the final mortgage offer? Solicitors are prepped and ready to go so just the mortgage slowing things down.

    Thanks

We submitted application 13/7 and got offer through Friday. We were simple application though - not COVID affected, no self employment and perfect credit histories.

Ahhh, tell me about it! I've had all of that nonsense from them today as well. Saying that they're going to start accept viewings if we don't instruct and send the paperwork back. We've stuck by our guns.
