Anyone want to join me? Awaiting Mortgage decision...

I have just had my valuation back from barclays and they have valued at 0! I had a home report done 1 month ago and it was reported as having no immediate problems and suitable for mortgage. To say I am fuming is an understatement! Not sure where to go from here.hannah2283 said:Had the valuation from HSBC today via the broker. Basically valuing it at £0 unless I get a timber, damp & wall tie report plus a quotation for remedial works. It’s a bit odd because normally they would take the value of works off the value offered for the house (according to my agent) and these are things that can be quite easily repaired. Luckily I have my homebuyers report survey scheduled for this week which will hopefully clarify these issues. I do still want the house though so it looks as though it’s going to be longer, more complicated and more expensive than I thought! Has anyone else experienced this before (and it’s turned out fine?)0 -
I small update....I spoke with my broker and they said that it has been changed on application but is back in a queue with the underwriters and awaiting for a revised offer. Does that mean they will be doing all the checks again? it's been a week and still waiting.Steven_C said:Hello everyone, would like to share my experience with HSBC and also have a question.
6th July - Mortgage application submitted via mortgage broker.
20th July - HSBC requesting wage slips and provided same day.
21st July - Mortgage offered approved and documents received.
When reading over the documents there was a typo in my name. I told them mortgage broker and they said they would let HSBC know. The issue is now we still haven't heard anything from HSBC or received any change. We don't understand how it can take this long to change a correction as its now been a week but offer the mortgage the following day after submitting wage slips and we are getting worried. Broker said it should only take a few days. Anyone else had the same issue before?0 -
Anyone got a rough timescale on HSBC applications? I had my zoom appointment last Friday and was told then that we'd been accepted and the offer was pending a valuation. They told me the valuation would be done Monday or Tuesday of this week. Assuming everything comes back from the valuation as expected, how long am I looking at before getting the final mortgage offer? Solicitors are prepped and ready to go so just the mortgage slowing things down.

Day 19 with Accord, feeling frustrated and family and friends keep asking if there is a house update *sigh* I wish!0

Seems a long wait but sure you’ll hear this week , still hanging on to hopefully pass our congrats !SierraRomeo30 said:Day 19 with Accord, feeling frustrated and family and friends keep asking if there is a house update *sigh* I wish!1 -
Keep checking the NW service updates and was 18 working days when our application was accepted on 16/7. This went down to 17 ( I think). Now it's back to 20 working days from application to offer, this is only average turn around. Document processing was at 4 working days, now at 5 working days. Says average of 10 working days for initial underwrite of case which should mean that tomorrow is our hopeful date for the underwriter to at least begin on our application. Fingers crossed.NW timescales:
DIP: 13/7
App: 16/7
Valuation: 6/8
NW offer: 20/80 -
Exact same here!SierraRomeo30 said:Day 19 with Accord, feeling frustrated and family and friends keep asking if there is a house update *sigh* I wish!
Seen people receive quick turnarounds with Accord recently and it makes me wonder if my app has ended up in some special queue haha.
Got no debts, permanent jobs with stable employer, no dependents so assumed it would straightforward... ah well
I hope both of us get good news this week0 -
Ours went in on 13th July - valuation done on 20th. Additional docs sent 21st and 22nd.John108 said:Anyone got a rough timescale on HSBC applications? Have had radio silence since. So the timescale can be summed up as... fricking ages...0 -
Yep, absolute ages with HSBC. Sent extra docs 14th of July. Valuation done and all was well but not heard anything since. We've been chasing every day 🤦🏻♀️0

Can't your mortgage advisor find out the reason for the zero valuation? there's obviously been some underlying issue that's been discovered.ftbamy2020 said:
