The only time that I have seen a hand luggage problem was when the bag was simply too large to fit into the overhead compartment
So it was too large to be hand luggage.

EasyJet need to offer an incentive not to take on board the largest hand luggage bag when a checked bag is included in the booking.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.

I guess it's easy to argue a point if everything that contradicts it should be taken with pinch of salt :)

That's why I prefer to go with personal experience. What has been yours? :)

I've never been asked to check a carry-on with easyJet but I have on other airlines and nobody ever checked that I removed valuables or fragile items or asked that I do so.

    Hi all

Can anyone confirm if this will be ok for Easyjet hand luggage (i know they could ask me to put it in the hold)

    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...er/2863922.htm

Easyjet says bag dimensions should be 56x45x25 although the description of this say 55x41x24 but it says with handle 60cm high, would that be classed as to big by check-in staff?

Reviews suggest its fine but like the expert views from savvy people on here

    Thanks

As long as the handle retracts down it will be fine. They just check the bag itself with handle put away.

So if it is really an inconvenience to you, remove any luggage tag that they may have put on your hand luggage before you get to the aircraft. As it only marks you out as a likely candidate. :)

And if you are seen doing this by the ground staff or cabin crew, it will be put into the hold anyway. It happens quite regularly.

Unless you are travelling to a busy destination, such as perhaps a Spanish holiday destination, it is unlikely to be an issue anyway.

Even then it will likely only affect you if you are amongst the last to board.

Of course it's ludicrous if you have your valuables in your hand luggage. So if it is really an inconvenience to you, remove any luggage tag that they may have put on your hand luggage before you get to the aircraft. As it only marks you out as a likely candidate. :)

Don't take valuables if they are nicked you wont get your money back from your travel insurance this includes your mobile phone.
If the value of your valuable is over the excess it needs to be declaired
Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring

It's too big at 60cm so if they measure it the chances are it would need to be checked. As it's over their permitted hand luggage size, you would probably be charged for checking it in.

The op stated that its 60cm high if handle is extended... The handle isn't measured so its fine.
