Which this thread proves. People are happy with they quality, safety, look of a pram and have had to for nearly 2 years.

Yet baulk when they realise they haven't bought the real deal.

The price is for the name lets face it. People don't even realise they've bought fakes.

Surely if I work for my money it is my choice what I spend it on? Not asking you to judge me for what I spend my own money on only asking for help in how I can prevent this happening to others.

Yes but this is Money Saving Expert, it is a website about saving money. Bugaboo is not money saving. I would suggest you try Mumsnet where you will find plenty of Hyde Park ladies who don't care about money and think Bugaboo represents value for money.

I'm not judging you. I've had stupidly expensive prams. But then I did my homework, I would've know instantly if it was a fake.

I've got a good eye for fakes. Plus I always verify big ticket purchases with the manufacturer before hand.

I see the point of people having more money than sense. People don't even know they've got fakes and are quite happily plodding along, showing the label, without a care in the world. They are happy to have parted that £1000 for it.

I hit a nerve with the resale value didn't I?

You can't help others. People have to research themselves and have common sense.

Common sense would say a limited edition, high ticket item, sold out at all stockists. An eBay seller wouldn't suddenly have some to sell. People are happy to buy as they want the kudos of having that limited edition, that brand. Rather than stopping to think. That's how fake sellers get away with it.

I think that there's been a degree of unjustified harshness directed towards the OP. Feel free to discuss.

Totally agree, what is it with this the jumping on the bandwagon and picking through an OP mentality on MSE?

I am really surprised at the responses on this thread!

I would be pretty annoyed too and of course the resale value is a (huge) consideration. Surely it is up to the OP what she spends her money on, hell maybe it was even a gift (as my childs pram was from his grandparents).

Yes, maybe the OP didn't do enough research at the time, maybe she was heavily pregnant and not firing on all cylinders?

Maybe there are 101 maybes that we know nothing off.

She spent £1k on a product that turns out not to be what she expected. I would imagine most people would be pretty annoyed.

    Jeez ... be nice people!
