Fake Bugaboo Pram

Hi All, I was looking for some help! I bought a Bugaboo pram on Ebay almost 2years ago, I wanted a black limited edition one and couldn't get it in the shops. I thought this pram was great and exactly what I wanted until I watched an episode of Fake Britain and now I am sure my pram is a fake! I am disgusted that someone would do this and put the safety of a child at risk! Do I have any rights as the consumer or is there anything I can do almost two years later? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I paid through Paypal and still have a record of all my payments.

You were perfectly happy with the pram until you saw something on telly. Two years is an awfully long time to try to get consumer redress for something, particularly something you actually like.

It's obviously safe enough if you have been using it for 2 years

After 2 years use, on the balance of probabilities. I'd say you'd have a hard job even proving the pram you have was the one sold to you.

Two years is a convenient time for you to now be looking for a remedy due to it being fake. As children tend to have outgrown large prams now. You were happy with it all this time....so I would not fancy your chances tbh.

The pertinent part of the SOGA for fake goods is 'not as described'. You'd be hard pushed to complain something was 'not as described' after two years of happy use. The OP doesn't mention price but that would be a factor too. A limited edition bugaboo probably costs the best part of a grand. If the OP paid £200 for it then that's something that weakens her argument further.

I'm presuming you paid the going rate for this pram, rather than a reduced price? (i.e. nothing to indicate it COULD be fake).

The first thing you need to do is PROVE it is fake. You can't contemplate doing anything before you do this.

If it does turn out to be fake, then you need to pursue the seller, probably by requesting a full refund upon return, otherwise you'll set trading standards onto them.

Or you could just have it checked for safety given it has been ok for 2 years? (I understand why you wouldn't want to take the risk - prams undergo rather vigorous safety testing, so you wouldn't want to chance a fake!)

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

And like you would be with a product you thought was real. I am only wanting to g to prevent this happening to someone else. Had I been wrint on here that after two years the pram collapsed at hurt my child would it still be ok?

Perhaps this is true but I will try. Like most people I was prepared for my child soalthough the pram was purchased 23 months ago it was not used for 6 months and should fit my child until the age of 3 so at a ost of £1000 I was boping to use it for a lot longer than this.

Apart from seeing on TV that there are fake ones, why do you think yours is fake? It's obviously well made enough to be real.

Was it too cheap at the time?
    Does it not look right?
Is it different from everybody else's?
Does it have dodgy spelling on the labels?
    Was it sent from China?

Yes the going rate was paid for the pram and the seller was emailed directly to ensure authenticity. I have phoned bugaboo and the serial number is fake taken from a different style of bugaboo. Plus ther are other small indicators which I was made aware of from TV.

Not cheap, and looks fab as a copy. Does not have a correct serial number nor bugaboo printed on wheels.
