Was it sold new or used?

I know a lady who sells prams on Ebay, she buys them cheap at car boot sales etc and then orders the spare parts, repairs them, cleans them and resells them, obviously as used, I've seen some of the prams she's sold, they look brand new, could it be something like this? Perhaps the wheels were changed?

I suspect it may be a fake for the simple reason that you bought it on Ebay as new. Unless it is bankrupt stock from somewhere or an ex display. Bugaboo only deal directly with retailers and have a very strict policy about the selling of their products online. They certainly do not allow their retailers to sell on Ebay. I think you can only buy online from the large multiples such as Mothercare or John Lewis or a couple of the very big independents
  • Probably made in the same factory after hours!

Seriously, 2 years on there is little you can do. Obviously you have got a lot a use out of it without any issue so just continue to do so.

And like you would be with a product you thought was real. I am only wanting to g to prevent this happening to someone else. Had I been wrint on here that after two years the pram collapsed at hurt my child would it still be ok?

But it hasn't collapsed. If you hadn't seen the telly programme, you'd have been none the wiser.

I can understand that you're annoyed it's fake, particularly as you paid full price for it. But it's still a good buggy, one that you've enjoyed using for two years. What do you want to happen? Do you want your money back? The pram's worth something and you've had two years of use out of it. You should pay something then shouldn't you? Do you want a replacement real pram? But again, why should you get a brand new bugaboo in return for a two year old fake? It's just not going to happen.

I think you just need to be a bit realistic. The pram's fine, you happened on a telly programme sheerly by chance, it's two years since you bought it, the seller's probably dead by now or at least living it up in Spain on the proceeds of flogging a truckload of fake bugaboos. Nowt you can do really.

Perhaps this is true but I will try. Like most people I was prepared for my child soalthough the pram was purchased 23 months ago it was not used for 6 months and should fit my child until the age of 3 so at a ost of £1000 I was boping to use it for a lot longer than this.

Why have you stopped using the pram? Is there anything to suggest it's not safe?

The thing is chances are, by now seller has moved on. As sellers of fakes tend to do.

Your only possible comeback is with the seller, if you can find them.

I'm suspecting the reason op is so narked, is because bugaboos have high resale values. Which gives you back a huge chunk of investment. She'd be breaking the law selling it on now, she knows it is a fake.

I would also say, they are probably "grey" goods, as have been describes up top. Made in the same factory but not on the official brand orders. Which is why you'd be none the wiser after 2 years use.

I have to ask. Why would anyone pay £1000 for a pram?

The world has gone mad. I feel very old some days. :o
Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.

Because it says Bugaboo on it. Despite the fact you can get much better in both quality and practicality for around 50% of the price people are still stupid enough to buy them
