Just bought 6 bottles of the Australian red, and a 3L box of Australian Shiraz (£9.99)

Searcher2 wrote:Don't worry! The 5% is taken off and will appear on your invoice when you get the goods. Basically the Tesco website is a bit crap to say the least. You'd think with their millions they could manage to take the 5% off online but they can't. The price given on the website is just a guide price.
PS. Don't forget to use the £15 off voucher from the Vouchers section!
Be careful! I told tesco.com I would never use them again [and haven't*] and that I would badmouth them [and have] after they failed to deduct (and then took forever & numerous reminders to refund) the £5 they weren't supposed to have charged in the first place on the first-ever wine order I placed with them last year. Despite the initial experience [and before I told them I would never use them again...] I placed a 2nd order, half of which they couldn't supply after I'd spent some time deciding what to order. (In fact, it was a computer glitch which meant that quite a few customers had to completely re-do their orders. I didn't..) I could barely get an apology, let alone any compensation for "the inconvenience", which is when I made, and subsequently carried out, my threat. (I also stamped my little foot, lay on my back & kicked my legs in the air and finally screamed & screamed until I was sick...)
*The threat doesn't extend to Tesco stores however. It's given me great pleasure to fleece them by using vouchers I've been given for a new Tesco Metro opened up in Islington -- initial vouchers for 2 quid off a 7 quid spend were followed by £5 vouchers-off-a-£20-spend - given at the till - so that I was able to buy several bottles, in several trips, of decent champagne at less than 8 quid a bottle! I.e. it was £10.89 [half-price] per bottle; buy 2 bottles & use my £5-off-£20 voucher!Expect the worst & hope for the best...0 -

just returned from Oz (visiting relatives) and learned that they have had the bumpiest grape harvest ever. 2005 is going to be a super duper cheap fest with quality - poor ole cobber is clobbered with horendous alchololal taxation - so mush so that jacobs is more expensive there than here. slurpTreat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0

Thank's for the Superplonk link Mr Accountant, it's vere useful.
The standard problem of finding wine on offer, but not knowing if it's any good, can now be overcome.
Check for wine offers using Fixture Ferret, then add the cheap wines to the Superplonk site to see if they are worth buying. For my local stores, Tesco's and Somerfield have some very good deals now. I think I'll stock up!0 -
Is there not a £20 off link I read somewhere?if anyone could pm it to me, would be very grateful - birthday bash coming up!0
