Tesco have 30% off all Aussie wines. I expect there will be plenty over the next few weeks. the extra 5% for 6 or more, makes it a good time to stock up on Aussie wines. Much better than the wine club deals. Clubcard points tooNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0

I wouldn't want to drink it again (neat) but it would be ideal for punch, or for mulled wine in winter.
Cheers

Ideal for pouring in your Beef casseroles or giving to the In-laws!!

I mentioned this in this thread in Shop but don't drop a couple of days ago - you can get it cheaper if you shop online and use the £15 off £50 code.0

If you look in the Vouchers section on here there is a code for £15 off £50 spend on Groceries online (which would include buying the wine mentioned above). It's not just this wine that is discounted.... It's 30% off all Australian and NZ wine..plus another 5% off when you buy 6 or more....plus £15 off a £50 spend... (add delivery of £3.99 to £5.99 depending on delivery day). This equates to roughly half price wine delivered to your door from a good range of wine.0

I just tried this out on the Tesco site Using code *** code removed by Board Guide *** (codes should not be placed on Grabbit) for £15 off £50 you can buy 27 bottles of wine delivered for £40.02.
I guess you can mix and match all the Aussie wines up to £50.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
We drink the Australian red regularly, and it's very pleasant. Recently made the decision that we aren't buying French wines any more (in the UK), they simply don't offer good enough value for money, now that wines from other countries have improved substantially...
Wine snobs really cheese me off - a wine doesn't have to be expensive to be good
In the latest batch of wines we bought from Tesco, there was a Corbieres Reserve which had supposedly been cut from £7.99 to £3.99, and another screw-top 2002 Italian red wine called Merlot del Piave for £3.29
We found the Merlot del Piave more enjoyable than the French wine, despite being cheaper and having a screw-top, and we've subsequently gone back and bought moreThanks to all who post constructively.

Wine is there to be enjoyed, we each have our own tastes/preferences.
Without going into the science of wine tasting & sending everyone to sleep, from personal opinion & experience, you do get what you pay for.
One persons £2.99 Blue Nun can be another persons £90 Penfolds Grange. If you like it - drink it.
Its been mentioned before on previous threads but, perhaps now really is the time for a specific Food/Drink board.
Bottoms up !!Hmmmmmmm0 -
Also paying a lot of money for a bottle of wine is no guarantee of a good bottle of wine
I remember an accountant at a company I worked for being told by a visiting wine salesman that "you get what you pay for", but at the time they were talking about the fact that he was charging £5.50 for a bottle of Beaujolais Nouveau when it was available in Oddbins for around £2 a bottle! Thanks to all who post constructively.
