http://www.connectababycarrier.com/product-category/connecta-integra/in-stock/ is the one I used a lot with my oldest - don't tend to use it much now, although I do with the youngest occasionally if we're walking the dogs or something and the big-un is on her smart trike thing.

I've got a connecta and a moby stretchy wrap. I alternate between the two - baby is almost 5 months old now, so a stretchy still works fine for us and I've used it since birth. I'd go as far to say that the stretchy is still more comfortable just because it's softer and there are no straps, but the connecta is not uncomfortable and I use that as often.

I used a connecta and really liked it. A ring sling is also an option, some people find them really comfortable although I didn't really get on with them. My favourite was my Lenny Lamb mei tai, it was so comfortable. They are quite large though.

Be careful buying from Amazon/Ebay - Ergos in particular are having a fake problem on there. I used to use a connecta a lot - not so much nowadays.

This is good advice. In fact do not buy baby carriers from Amazon, even if they are sending it to you themselves. Because they dispatch for other sellers, the fakers send their stock in and it gets mixed up with the genuine ones. So even a reliable seller on Amazon may unwittingly sell you a fake. Ergo is a problem but so too is the likes of Moby, Beco and Boba
  • I've had a stretchy wrap (only good for a couple of months) and a ring sling (my newborn got lost in this but loved it afterwards although no good for long walks). My favourite is the Ergo-type carrier I bought on eBay for around £10. I've carried my 1 year old in it since a few weeks only and also use it to carry my nearly 3 year old occasionally. I also had a Mei Tai which I LOVED but it just took too long to get baby in and out with a toddler running around!

You could look into a SPOC (simple piece of cloth) wrap. I've tried a ring sling (gave me shoulder/neck ache), and a Patapum toddler carrier (thought it wasn't secure enough) and another (I forget which), none of which I really liked. Now I just have a long, hemmed piece of cotton that I use for my youngest (just turned 1). Wraps are a good choice from a budget point of view and they're very versatile - lots of ways to wear them. It can take practice to learn how to wrap, but once you've got it, it's really quick.

I had a stretchy mobi until my baby was 5 months then he got too heavy, now I've got an Ellaroo wrap and an Ellaroo ring sling that are both really comfy and I'm waiting for a mei tai to be made for me.

These are two Facebook groups I'm members of which are great for getting advice and buying a sling.
